Stop saying "with a hood" as if it matters. I wear hoods. Plenty of people do, especially in the rain.

I am not going to call the cops because someone is standing under a tree. A black person simply standing around isn't suspicious to me.

If he's going around, looking into windows and trying to get into houses, of course I will call. But no, I will not call 911 and say "Hey, someone help, a black guy is standing under a tree doing absolutely nothing!!"

I do like how Steven's title refers to it as the "Trayvon Trial" It may come to that the way it appears now.

If I thought someone was suspicious enough to call the cops about ... I wouldn't take a stroll over there and involve myself in the situation.

I don't know anyone, other than law enforcement, who would think "That person looks like they're up to no good ... I think I'll take it upon myself to go ask what he's up to!"

That you would do something different does not make GZ guilty. As long as what he did was within the law, then he is innocent. It does not have to be what you would do or even what you would like him to do.

If someone assaulted you on the street, you would call 911. I would not. Some people call other people to bring guns, some people bring them themselves. All is within the law.

Is he within the law to call the police and approach someone in his neighborhood that he believes is suspicious? YES. Is he allowed to "profile" YES. There is no law against individual citizens "profiling". There may be restrictions on government officials and law enforcement, but not on regular folks, Penny. You are allowed to profile all you want. Is he allowed to me armed? YES Is he allowed to kill someone that is causing him to be in fear of death or serious injury YES.

You do not have to like any of those things or think they are normal or think you would do them...it does not matter what you think. He is within the law and he will walk out a free man.

This is the difference between people who value freedom and those that don't.

Yep. You learn a lot about yourself in P&R when people just tell you what you think, rather than listen to your actual opinion.

I am still waiting on you to tell me where I said CNN was not a credible news source, since the subject came up

I did not say it made him guilty.

Okay, I haven't followed this either (like someone else said, people are killed in altercations dozens of times a day I'm sure and we never hear about it)... and I'm probably going to regret asking this, but... at what point did he get his gun? I may have misread this, but it sounded like he was walking around unarmed, and then all of sudden (whether it was from self defense or not) he was shooting a gun. What did I miss?

He had his gun all along. He's probably one of those wackos that doesn't even go to take a dump without having his gun.

Freedom does not equal gun possession. GZ is a thug.
