I read somewhere, and I think it was on this site in the recommended links/info by the moderators, that packet3 is no longer being setn as of June or July of 2006.

Instead, packet 4 is sent with an appointment time (which takes a month or so anyways) and the proper materials to bring back at the time of interview (eg medicals docs, ds160, etc).

Anyone know if this is accurate?

I recently received packet 3 for my K3 and then packet 4 (with appointment time) a few weeks after I had sent in the packet 3 papers. Hope that helps.

Oh, thanks. I wonder if it's different per consulate???

I finally, after searching through endless pages (really only about 15) of saved favorites, found the website/content I was referring to.

K1-K4:

When your fiancée gets the P3 packet in the mail she must return 2 forms:

1. DS-230 (part I)

2. OF-169

Note: As of June 2006, the P3 Supplement is not longer required by the consulate. If you receive this for any reason, you can discard it."""

I wonder if that's a mistake or what? :no::help:

Guangzhou sends packet 3 and waits for the Beneficiary to return the DS-230 before the send out packet 4.

Some consulates send both at same time, not Guangzhou.

Some consulate specific info can be found here: http://guangzhou.usconsulate.gov/fiancee_visas.html

Don't confuse the P3 Supplemental, which is a single document with the P3 packet; You still get a P3. If the P3 packet contains a P3 Supplemental document, then you can discard that single document.. not need to return that one document.

Here is a copy of what that P3 supplemental looks like...
