Travons parents could not sue for their million dollars settlement until George was arrested. George HAD to be arrested so along came this woman and her head was filled with facts of the case. This woman said their were 3 way phone calls going on. This other person on the line has yet to be introduced. ..... The question is WHY......The state does not desire this 3rd person on the stand, stories could get mixed up.....

Her credibility should not be questioned on the basis of whether she can read cursive, or because of her hairstyle, or her weight, or her public speaking ability, etc., or even because she got a little testy on the witness stand. The defense lawyer was doing his job, which was to try to trip her up. He's in court all the time - it's his familiar turf. But it's not a familiar place for her, and she was on the stand answering a barrage of questions for seven hours. That's a long time. She's not perfect, by no means is she perfect. But she didn't ask to be a witness to a killing. Her testimony is important.

Its a short day of work with a long lunch break. She did not remain civil through even half of it. She could not read or write during any of it.

Good Grief, what a mess!

One witness says GZ was on top, the other says TM was on top. The only thing this case is providing is "reasonable doubt" and the defense hasn't started yet. There were 3 way calls but only one of the people shows up. No wonder they did not charge him for 2 months.

Indeed. We learned today that Zimmermann was quite the MMA man himself. MMA training 3 days a week and 3 hours a pop. I thought that was an interesting new piece of information, didn't you?

He had a gun, what would he need MMA for? Maybe for a hobby. As we see he had no need for it in this case. Why would he? You think he needs to "fight fair"? Screw that. Do what Indiana Jones did...pull out the gun and shoot.

She was not treated any different that any other witness in her position would be..

I should not lower my expectations of a persons ability to adjust to a situation because of their appearance. She chose to be disrespectful to the defense - people testify everyday in similar circumstances and are judged accordingly. Treating her differently would be wrong.

But this is typical racism..."Black people can't...." Yes they can.

She is credible because it is not politically correct to question racist black people. How many times have you ever seen a reporter ask Jesse or Al real questions. It's always white glove treatment.

One thing was odd to me. She was talking to her best buddy on the phone,who was being stalked by a creepy ### cracker, an altercation ensued and the phone went dead.

She is telling us that she found out at school the next afternoon there had been a fight and he had been killed.

You telling me something like that happens and she does not call his parents, friends or even check on him, and finds out at school the next afternoon he was in a fight and killed.

Odd that you would think he'd rely on his gun in this case. Zimmermann testified to the police that he wasn't even aware, didn't even remember the whole time that he had his gun on him. Are you suggesting that Zimmermann was lying to the police?

When you go through life untested, you run the risk of coming up "short" should the need ever arise. Despite the fact that carrying a firearm actually decreases your chance of surviving a confrontation, the meek IRL would rather carry "something" to make them feel less inadequate.

I don't know how many people here have ever been in a situation like this trial. My experience is not identical, but I had to testify in an attempted murder trial when I was 16 years old. It's very intimidating. The attorneys will make you feel as uncomfortable as possible - it's their job to try to rattle your testimony in a way that will be favorable to their client, and it doesn't even matter if you're telling the truth. They will repeat questions over and over in different ways, and pick and pick and pick, and even insult your credibility until you do feel frustrated, possibly even confused. I remember how I felt the 100th time a question was asked, and I'm sure my irritation came out in my voice. It's much easier, and a lot more fun, to armchair quarterback from the peanut gallery - you don't have to face a cross-examination.

It is not politically correct to expect black people to be literate. That's nonsense. I have the same expectations of black people as I do of white people. We are equal.

And we cannot convict a man to prison because a witness can't handle it. The attorneys do their job. Jonathan Good did very well in describing how TM pounded the ####### out of GZ on the sidewalk.

Just because she flopped, does not mean you can substitute what she said for something better which fits your agenda. She was a bad choice in one way. But she IS black so the state can say they did have black witnesses when GZ gets acquitted.

She was a bad witness because she is illiterate and insolent. Any attempt to assign those qualities to people because they are black, or fat, or have stupid looking hair, or are a woman is offensive racism/sexism

Suppose the below woman had been testifying about her white boyfriend who was killed by a black man after being punched in the face and beaten. Supposed she lied, changed her statements, called all black people a racial slur, and called the black defense attorney retarded.

Would the media and the liberals in VJ be defending her as just being scared and having cultural differences.

If I go all my life without being tested I will be happy. So far, so good. But I live in a place where anyone can be armed and it is very safe.
