Hi I received my work auth card today in the mail, but just wanted to be clear on something. Now that I have this card, I apply for my social security number, and once I get that number, I'll be able to start looking for work. Is this correct?

Any idea how long it takes to get a social security number in Florida?

Thanks in advance

According to https://www.socialsecurity.gov/pubs/EN-05-10107.pdf (Do I need to have my number before I start working?), it is not required to have an SSN to start working.
