Did we just get our NOA1?

Hi,

My fiancee just received an email stating:

"Your Case Status: Initial Review

The I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you."

Is this the NOA1? If so, we're much earlier in the process than we thought, and our hopes of getting to the stage with interviews and medicals etc before September are dashed (VJ timeline now tells us to expect another response between Dec 7th and 27th). We received thie mail below on February 21st:

"Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS Vermont Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number....."

We assumed this was the NOA1... can someone provide clarity?

(also, a couple of days ago, apparently the case was transferred to a local USCIS office for processing.)

Which is the NOA2? If so, that's much better

Form 1-797C is the first notice, your NOA1 should be back in February. You should change the date of your NOA1 on your timeline...it looks like it took 4 months to get your NOA1 and that is why your timeline is saying December

Your NOA1 was on Feb 21st.

This is just a notice that your petition is elsewhere to be processed.

Your NOA2 will say either approved or denied.

Okay, so I need to go back and change my timeline (I changed the date when I received the email)... which puts my timeframe for a response back around July which we're much happier with! Thank you for the clarification, do you think the transfer to another office will put much of a delay on things? Is it usual to get transferred?

Vermont have been getting really behind lately, and they sent a load of petitions to Texas to get through them quicker. The first batch of Dec & Jan filers were sent off in May, and many of them are now getting approved. Yours is likely in the second batch they just sent to Texas.

You will probably get your NOA2 either in July or August.
