my wife came in on a k1 visa and we married within the 90 days. im doing form 1-765 first and we are very stuck on question 10 only, which says alien registration number a number or i-94 if any. Now i've found the i-94 paper stapled into her passport but i dont know which is her A number, or i-94 number, and if they are suppose to mean the same thing. BUt here on her i-94 there are 2 numbers one on the front which is 11 digits where it says admission number and one on the back which starts with an A...where it says record changes and is written in pen.

Of these 2 numbers which do i put for question 10? we are stumped and my wife told me to say thank to anyone who helps us. we'd appriciate it much

The alien number is the one which start with A. U can also find it in your noa2 when you got approved. In my case, the immigrarion officer also write my alien number on my visa and my I94. The I94 number is the one in the fron t of her I94

The ONLY place our A# could be found was above the beneficiary's name on the NOA2. No where else. Sometimes the CBP person writes it on the I-94 or the visa, but not always. As far as I know the A# for a K-1 visa is always on the NOA2. It is in the format of XXX-XXX-XXX.

Good luck,

Dave

wrong! For a while ago the cbp write down on the back of the I94 and over the k1 visa. Maybe back then when you came here wasnt like that

Okay maybe so, but what are they doing now that the I-94 is electronic? Just curious.

I don't know but this is clearly NOT the Op case. If you read the original post, he clearly said that his wife's i94 is a paper staple to the passport just like the most of us, and for his responsed he found it just where I told him where it was. But that's a good question hope you satisfy your curiosity.

Having the A# number written in the back of the I-94 really depends on the CBP officer. Some did it, some didn't. It's not new or old (until the I-94 became electronic, for sure). I had some friends who arrived late last year and the CPB didn't write the A# on their I-94.

It's best to only trust the A# written on the NOA2 anyway.

Dave is correct. Not everyone had the A# on their visa or had the CBP officer write it on the back of the I-94 when they were still paper. The only one to trust is the one you find near the beneficiary's name on the NOA2 approval notice for the I-129F.
