I said when I was younger. That was back in the 90's.

Now, sometimes I get checked here on base and that's just random. But if you must know, about 2 weeks ago, my wife and I came on base from eating out in town. She wanted to show her ID card at the gate to be funny since I was struggling to get my ID from my wallet. The policy here is before 2200 if one person has a Government ID then all in the car are covered. It was around 1900, and the gate guard took her ID and then he looked at me and said let me see you license. It was weird because all they require is and ID card to get on base. So I showed my ID card, but he was like ok where's your driver's license. His entire demeanor changed. I said ok and showed it to him. After that he read it and said ok have a nice day. My wife asked why he did that, I told her I'm not sure. Could be something or nothing.

My mother bought me a car at 17, a Pontiac LeMans. I remember being pulled over at least a couple times a week. Same old questions, how did I get the car, did I do drugs or have them in the car, was I in a gang. If my friends were with me, I'd screen them to make sure they didn't have warrants.

Now, not so much. Being in the military gives me some latitude when they pull me over.

Pasha, who is very white, gets pulled over and checked fairly often driving a Volvo S80 T6 which could blow the doors off your Lemans while getting better mileage in the process. They ask him how he got the car (paid cash himself after working for 3 years and saving money). They ask him about drugs, alcohol, (no) what they have been doing (if his friends are with him) I am not aware of Pasha needing to "screen" any of his friends for warrants. Most have college grants and scholarships but no warrnats I am aware of. That's too funny Marvin.

I always tell him to let the officer know when he is armed and where his pistol is. He is over 18 now, he can do that.

I write it off to youth and inexperience plus those freakin' bright white headlights that push the limits on allowed lumens! Could be the hot black on black trim and cool aluminum rims also. Maybe the Z rated racing tires (not for winter!) Whatd'ya think? Yeah, its the black on black thing isn't it? I thought so too.

So far he has lived longer than Trayvon Martin by resisting the urge to "ground and pound" people that check him out.

Just for the record I don't hang out with people with outstanding warrants either and I am Gold Medal flour white. It's just common sense. Has nothing to do with race. Their is a racial bogeyman behind every tree with you Marvin.

The correct term is lily white as in " White Lily Flour" Listen to Offspring's song " Pretty Fly for a white guy" for an example of said term! haha!
