Visa in hand, flight booked and Wedding planned - What next!!

Hi Everyone,

Well after 10 months of waiting, its finally here....Yipee!! I have my visa, my flights booked and the wedding is planned, so what next!! ....and apart from the obvious that i get married, what happens now?

I have tried looking for info on visa journey, but i cant find anything!! I just wondered about the process about flying and when i land in the U.S? what documents do i need to show apart from my passport, and the file i got from the embassy ? am i right in saying that i have to fill in an I-94 on the plane? is there anything else?

Then do we file for AOS and EAD at the same time, and when are you able to get a SSN so i can open a bank account etc?

Sorry if these questions have been asked and answered somewhere, but there seems to be so much to do and organize, and am a little exhausted lol

This has the general idea. You show your visa at immigration, give them the envelope, an I-94s are electronic now.

A K-1 is entitled to a SSN. I would recommend getting one in your maiden name about 2 weeks after you enter the US. The number is yours forever.

After marriage, you apply for AOS, and there is a whole forum devoted to that topic. EAD and AP are filed in the AOS package.

Flying and POE is actually really simple. You'll have your visa, and a sealed envelope that you should keep with you in your hand luggage. When you get to POE, ask an officer there which line to join - likely the GC/USC line or if there is one a "new immigrant" line. Then they'll take you to secondary screening, open your sealed envelope and do a little bit of processing. Nothing scary - just paperwork. They'll also be able to help you if you've got queries. I think you can do the I-94 then. Then you're free to go!

Then you get to do the best bit - get married! You should see your local city hall or office to ask about getting your marriage certificate and whatnot.

How do you mean? The beneficiary - the visa applicant - receives the seal envelope with their passport once the visa has been issued.
