Day 5- Zimmerman Trial

Lets take into account the following;

1. The title of the thread was not correct per the previous days format.

2. The thread had no link to the trial.

3. The thread was started prematurely by an over anxious VJ member. Ahem...

4. And lastly and most importantly, many were probably scared off by exactly "who" started the thread...i.e. Nature Boy.

Although known as the most level headed, unbiased and fair member on VJ, he has on occasion strayed from that designation.

I'm a little confused at what they are saying now. Is the overall accusation now that George Zimmerman tackled Treyvon, starting beating him up, and then as Treyvon was maybe getting away he shot him?

I don't think from what I've heard that's a plausible chain of events.

A fight ensued, TM somehow gained the top position straddling GZ and at some point he was shot point blank in the chest.

Once shot GZ got on top of the dying TM while he was still alive and remained on top restraining him for a few moments (30-45 seconds) after TM went limp GZ got off the body.

At least that's what I think is indisputable based on the testimony presented.

There are many holes to GZ other details, but these facts up to the gunshot are fairly substantiated with testimony. So far that is...

Two witnesses, one that was even up close, have testified that this is what happened. Plus it is also was the original statement of GZ. I'm not saying everything GZ said happened, but nobody has testified that they were both standing when TM was shot...well, not yet.

Uh, oh...GZ's medical record explains that he's training for MMA?

Witness states he trained in "Mixed Martial Arts" 3 days a week and he couldn't beat a guy he had 50lbs on and that had no training?

Not at all. This is not MMA, this is self defense. Just because the the State's witness used that term to justify GZ's self defense, does not mean it was an MMA match and the rules do not apply.

In self defense the idea is to WIN. The idea is to be the guy sitting in court and for the animal attacking you to be killed. When the attacking animal gives you the opportunity to use deadly force by giving you a reasonable belief that you could suffer serious injury at his hands, then you kill him. Hopefully you have chosen to carry an adequate firearm for the purpose.

In self defense you do NOT fight fair, you kill the person as quickly as possible. You do not, EVER, use deadly force unless it is allowed and justified and then it is best if the use of it results in the death of the attacking vermin.

GZ not only did society a huge favor by eradicating this pestilence before he hurt some person unable to defend themselves, he did so exactly in accordance with the law as written.

GZ walks. You all know it. Nothing is going to, or can, happen to change that. TM was on top, assaulting GZ in a way that any person with 2 functioning brain cells would understand causes a reasonable fear of death or serious injury...that is the criteria for the use of deadly force in self defense. Case is closed. There is no possible way this will result in a 2nd degree murder conviction. Saying otherwise is mental masturbation.

Trying to say that GZ should have stayed in his car is blaming the victim for being at the scene of the crime. Nonsense.

It also reinforces the self defense claim.

The use of deadly force is justified to STOP the actions which can result in death or serious injury to the victim. GZ is the victim of the crime. He shot TM once which ended the assault and ended his reason to believe he needed deadly force any further.

The use of ONE shot is not only efficient, it also furthers the claim of self defense. GZ stopped shooting and got away from the assailant as soon as he could. Classic self defense.

GZ had a gun, TM had skittles. Better to have a gun.

Reasonable doubt. The state has provided nothing BUT reasonable doubt. If you have no doubt at this point, you are unreasonable. He will be acquitted.

There is nothing that is going to happen that will erase reasonable doubt.

I have a family member that just bumped his head on a desk. Plugging in a computer. He ended up spending 3 weeks in a coma with brain trama. Dr said only 10% of persons with this type of injury ever go back to work. . It seems that any blow to the head can be deadly . How many hits to the sidewalk before serious injury is involved.....I would say one.. I am not a doctor but just understanding what happened to this family member. As you age your brain does shrink and the trama of the brain just hitting the skull from that shrinkage can be deadly. (the swelling of the brain) rather than the outside blow. to the head..Perhaps someone with more medical knowledge can comment further.
