I didn't go to Canada and I'm not really going to Mexico. This vote is a slap in the face to every legal immigrant that has entered the country since immigration laws have been in place. There should be an uproar by every legal immigrant against this.

From a practical perspective, what is the realistic alternative? From a purely humanitarian perspective, how can one really be opposed? No, it's not perfect but nothing ever is. As a legal immigrant, I don't feel slapped in the face. I really don't.

Only thing I can think is they should be put at the back of the line, there have been ppl who have been waiting for long in this line and are doing everything by book.

It would not be fair that ppl who broke the law would get to pass the ppl who are doing it by book.

By passing this bill it seems we are punishing ppl for following the law.

I hope this dies in the House. They are elliminating the legal path to citizenship for brothers/sisters of citizens.

Basically they will be splitting up families by not allowing an immigrant who became a citizen sponsor his brother or sister. So much for my wife being able to eventually sponsor her sisters to come to America…
