Estimated adjudication bumped up (a tiny bit) for VSC

Hey fellow VJers,

Former forum lurker lured out by a tiny, tiny, happy update. I'm a NOA1 April 17 filer with an estimated adjudication date of October 2-22. Been staring at the bar graph on Igor's list trying to raise them with the Force, and noticed today on my timeline the estimated date from VJ is now September 29-Oct 19.

That silly estimate doesn't mean anything, really, but any change is welcome during this sluggish process.

I really want to let the more active VJers know the information on this site is incredible and does seem to ease the dread of facing no official news day after day. I've been waiting only a bit over two months, and I dread to think the fate of my petition may be a 10-month long process or, God forbid, fall into the black hole between VSC and NVC and the Embassy; so many posters are so positive, though, and it gives me hope to see the cogs turning even a tiny bit.

Two things:

1) I did take the advice of some more optimistic posters and wrote to Senator Burr in NC a few weeks ago via e-mail on his website. I made it clear I wasn't writing for my application, but to make a general complaint about the ridiculousness of a five-month wait to begin with, prolonged with that Oct. 15 processing date nonsense at the time, with the DACA files on top of all of ours. Senator Burr was SUPER fast in responding, and within a week I had gone through the Privacy Act form rigmarole and received a response of basically "yes, VSC is slowed down by the DACA files" and "they responded and said they get to them in order and yours will wait" (duh). I politely thanked him, nonetheless, after editing out a bit of a meaner response about "so you're not actually going to DO anything" (in case I have to contact him again. I want to rain down hellfire now, but I will bide my time until post-approval and in the meantime encourage those who have already received your NOA2s to continue harassment. Get your family and friends who have witnessed this to write, too. I'm all for prioritizing the applications of US citizens. This is an extremely crappy process.)

2) Ever since VSC transferred the two batches to TSC (I am SO sorry for Dec-Jan filers, seriously - this system is a joke), I noticed they are BARELY approving non-transfers. There is a tiny handful of March approvals, but am I the only one noticing that? Did they just take the month off?

Sigh. ClockWatch2.gif

Heyyyy welcome ex lurker!! hahah!

Thank you so much for writing to your senator on behalf of everyone else aswell as yourself, every one can make a difference!

I also noticed the non-transferred have basically stopped being approved altogether...the only thing I will say is that VSC is due a speed up soon, as this happens once in a while, so you may find yourself in quite a favourable position being an April filer!

Are you aiming to be together by Christmas? I think this is quite a realistic possibility!

Haha thank you Azsara!

I dare not say one center is faster or slower than another; after going through other posters' comments through the years, you're right they just sort of cycle and are slow and then quick. I sure hope VSC rips through April because YES I WOULD LOVE TO BE WITH MY SWEETHEART BY CHRISTMAS biggrin.pngbiggrin.pngbiggrin.png

This is not the first time we have done this months-apart thing, but hopefully it will be the last!

Yes, it seems VSC has found a great way to never be behind on their petitions without actually doing anything. Once they get to around the 5 month mark, just dump them all to TSC to approve!

Yes the timelines can help but please be aware they can go the other way as well. We filed in October 2012 and at first the timeline said Feb for approval then around the middle of January it jumped to July for approval. It ended up being approved April 26th and the timeline said June something.

The DACA has really thrown the system into a very long a drawn out affair for us K1 filers. You would think being US citizens we would come first but that's not the case for some reason? I mean we are following the rules to get our loved ones here in this country so it should be easier right?

I guess what I'm trying to say is to be patient and believe me I know it's not easy. But in the end when we are beside our loved ones here in this country it will be worth all the waiting we had to do!:)

I wish you good luck!:)

I know! I've watched it go the other way already :(. It doesn't mean anything, to be sure, but it's better viewing than "initial review" day in and out!

It will be a great day when the visa is in hand. Thank you for the well wishes!

Happy 4th!!!
