Why are Congress even considering this?

Because a deal was made back in 2009 with LULAC and the Unions in NYC, with Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-Houston)

if 'we' get you status, 'you' promise to always vote democrat and pay your union dues.

It's snowballed since then, and now the House of Representatives gets to stir the pot.

Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-Houston) has had 3 years to 'form her voting alliances' in the House, and it's all a gonna happen.

i'm not going to go back and forth with you on this because i primarily weigh this issue with humanitarian interests in mind.

you might as well face facts. there is going to be immigration reform. there will be a path to citizenship for qualifying immigrants.

I wish the countries that these immigrants move from treat their citizens and immigrants better too.

why wish? why can't we deal with the reality of our current immigration situation without sitting back and saying 'hey, that guy's not doing anything. me either'?

that's the response you get when you ask a bunch of young kids to clean up a room together - some will start right away and the others will sit and point fingers about who else isn't helping. i feel like we need to send barney to the house to sing the 'clean up' song.

There are many white people here who are in favor of amnesty and illegal immigration and there also white people here who would convict without a trial. And some of those people will cry foul if GZ walks yet support illegals who break the law.Go figure.

The only concession I would favor is to not subject them to the ban after they return home and throw their name into the same hat and follow the same path that legal immigrants followed

What does the Senate think is going to stop more people from storming the border to get in on the amnesty? I live in a suburb of Boston and I know dozens of people who have entered the US via Mexico I can't even imagine the numbers in major cities and in the border states.

i just don't care about any of that. people have to live somewhere. let them live on the radar. hold them accountable to the same laws we are. let them pay taxes. i don't see the point in criminalizing people for wanting to live here. besides, there is no plausible way to deport and keep out everyone who is here illegally.

Take the door off of your house and let them in.
