Since weapon restrictions are on the books already, they would appear to be real world. We even had an assault weapons ban on the books in the not too distant past. It seems pretty obvious to me that rewarding illegal behavior will simply encourage more illegal behavior. So while on the surface it would seem like the easy thing to do is just to throw up our hands and say , "well they're already here, we might as well give them legal status," that would just say to anyone that wants to come here illegally in the future that if they just wait it out, they'll get legal status some day. I know the prisons are already full, but I'd say start locking them up on the second offense.

Guns don't have the capability to kill people on their own. I've always been in favoring of punishing illegal behavior, whether it's using a gun to commit a crime or entering the country illegally.

Now if people wanted to outlaw certain boats because some people use them to cross the Rio Grande to enter the U.S. illegally, that wouldn't make any sense.
