Hi All,

I wanted to check the possibility of getting the f1 visa stamped from india for my wife as she got I-20 from a decent university in usa.
We are planning for Fall 2013 session.
We are married for 5 years and have no kids.My wife wants to pursue masters degree in computer science as we both are working in IT for past 8 years.
Would being married gonna increase her chances to get the F1 stamped or is it a negative factor for her?

Also, She has a 10 year B1/B2 visa which was sponsored by her brother earlier this year, but never been to states.

Thanks,
Sanjay

Being married will decrease her chances of getting the visa as they will say she has intent to immigrate if you are a US citizen living in the states.

It is on the applicant to prove she does not have intent to immigrate.

Thanks for replying promptly, we are indian citizens and wouldnt it show strong ties with india as i will be in India only and to come there i will have to apply for dependent visa which consulate can reject anytime.

I would think it was not material.

Disregard post #2 he is assuming husband is USC.

10 yr B1/2 would not have any impact on getting F1 or not but CO might wanna know how you guys are planning to stay in 2 different countries, or why one would wanna have more plans to go to school after working in that field for 8 years.

But without applying you would never know.
