Financial aid is not a problem. It is never a problem. I don't understand why you keep asking if it is a problem? It is not a problem. You can take it. It will not affect your wife's case.

If you are not taking out loans, then your Financial Aid will be grants and/or scholarships. These are generally one time payments since you have to apply for it every year, so financial aid will not count as income. As long as your other income is above the poverty line, then you will not need a Joint Sponsor.
