Affidavit of Support I-134 Questions! HELP!

Hello guys!

Thank you for your previous support. After we have been approved, now we are getting ready for the interview.

And now we are concerned because of the Affidavit of Support.

Question 1: are these the updated poverty guidelines?

We reach the first limit for two people.

Question 2: Does my fiance have to have a yearly contract where he works at?

They do not give contracts for the position he has, they gave him a letter that specifies since when he has been working at his current work and the letter specifies a SEMI-MONTHLY payment. They refused to write the yearly amount. He has been working there for more than 3 years now...

Is that bad? Do we need a yearly contract to prove the US that he can support me?

Will we need a sponsor?

- We have bank statements

- Tax returns

- other documents besides this crapy Employment letter.

Any comments and advice will be greatly appreciated.

yes that is the current poverty threshold

for the income, you may want to include copies of the last few months of w2s

Do you think the letter will be a problem?

We have the paystubs, and the employment letter and the tax returns.

letterhead confirming a base pay.. good as gold, besides it seems that is all he can get ;)

I think you can stop worrying now

Some consulates want to see 125% of the poverty level, and some accept the 100%. I do not know how strict your consulate is on the financials. Check with others that have gone through there. After you get the K-1, get married and file for AOS in the US, you will definitely need the 125%.

The letter states his time working there and his salary. Add up his gross salary to get his annual income. So, his semi-monthly amount times 2 to get monthly and then times 12 months. That is what you would list for current income on the I-134. The employment letter and pay stubs will prove that current income amount.
