Hi All,

I had my interview for family based visa. The lady at the US embassy told me I have been approved but I needed send in another sponsor's tax returns(my USC wife don't make much),after that they could issue me a visa in a week in the mail.

I sent in the tax papers and my passport but after a week I called and they tell me my case under administrative processing and I should call in a week to find out.

Anybody been in such situation? Will they issue me the visa even after the lady had told me all looked fine?my wife and daughter are USC.

I have been away from them it is a year now.

Any advice out there?

from your post, I would guess that ap is taking place within the embassy

there is no determined time for ap.. could be a day could be a year

if you were told you were approved that is a good sign.. another good sign is they told you to call back in a week hope you get resolution soon

I hope for your case it could be resolved very soon but no body can tell you how long AP is gona last. But just be patient instead our has been at the same consulate for now coming to 5 months and yet everything requested was sent in early enough.

Just be patient as you continue to pray, God is always good and knows your destiny.

Wish you all the best

You never know how long but I think they use the status "AP" for all and any case on hold until the required doc. is received and reviewed. Your case appears to be simple. If you provided the requested doc, it may not be long. We have to go through this embassy for the second time......GOD Help us..... Good Luck to you!
