Birth Certificate Problems

Hi All!

Just in the initial steps of putting together the package. My finance is Italian and having a tough time retrieving her birth certificate; matter of fact its the only thing holding us up right now. My question is: Will a copy of her passport be sufficient enough or should I wait and hope her birth certificate arrives sometime before the next century?

The first part of the I-129F process, the initial visa petition filing is primarily about the petitioner's information. As baron555 noted, the beneficiary's birth cert. will be necessary after the I-129F approval by the USCIS, during the interview phase of the visa application process at the interviewing embassy/consulate.
