Timeline

We are currently in a 7 year battle with the US Embassy in Nigeria. We were married in 2006 and filed the paper work shortly there aftrr.which consisted of alien fiance and relatives petition. They werebapproved in Oct.2007. My husband was scheduled for his interview and physical. He passed the physical went to the interview and was told that his visa was pending due to administrative process which could take up to six months. Periodically thru the 6 months I would email them and would recieve the same email stating arminstrative processing. After 6 monyhs I wrote ststing the end of six months what would we need to do to have his visa issued at that time we were told it would take a year so in 6 months they would let us know. Again we kept in contact at the end of th year I notified them it had been a year yo which I received a response stating the same 1 year wit message I toldbthem this is the one year mark. Now during the year we were not contacted, our families were not contacted, none visited our homes or contacted our employers it appears it just sat. Well he was fiven another interview in 2008 and at that tike was told his visa was being sent back to homeland security to be revoked. We were told that they believed our marriage was for immigration purposes but were not given the reasons as to why. It tooka year for them to send it to USCIS that then sent us a letter with the bases for their allegation. It stated that since he paid for my ticket to Nigeria it was my payment, our wedding photos appeared staged/posed, that someone with a name similar to my husands had applied for a visa in 1990's (no photo or finger prints provided), that I'd only made one trip to his home(only 1 is required) in short a bunch of nonsense. We answered each point. Submitted over a years worth of IMs, phone records, emails, and text messages. USCIS/Homeland Security side with us sent it back stating our marriage was valid with request that the visa be issued. It took another year and a half for them to schedule another interview but we were hopeful because we'd recieved direction to assign a contact, for us to pay the fee for his visa and affidavit of support this was done promptly. Almost another year (this year) he was scheduled for interview. He attended this last month and was told that they had a letter from me stating that he was abusive, thay he'd failed to prove "a bona fide spousal relationship" and they wanted proof of relatolionship from 200-2013 also it would be helpful if I would come to the next interview that we should contact them when we're ready to reschedule and his visa was still in a pending status. At this point I'm planning to fly out this Friday for out July 1st. I have started a petition to stop this ludicris behavior and attempt to get changes made so that this never happens to anyone else and if it happening to someone now maybe we can shorten their or deal. Please sign to help us to change this process

Thank you Hey Family and friends,

I have a favor to ask.

Could you please sign my petition we need as many signatures as possible before 7/1/2013. Also could you please forward to as many of your friends as possible. We have an interview with the consulate on that day and we would like the petition to have an impact.
