When preparing the inventory list for household effects that are moving to the US, do values have to be provided for each item?

And do we have to specify the # of items? ie. 30 books, 10 t-shirts, etc?

I did not. I just list the number of boxes and their content. Ex: 2 box of books...ect and they do not even looked at it saying that my stuff did not look brand new !!

As for the value of your stuff you don't need to provide it because this is all your personal belongings. Although, if you have furniture or electronics that looked new, bring the bill with you.

I hope this help !

The best of luck on your POE !

Nope..

I wrote down

Box 1: Books

Box 2: Books

Box 3: kitchen appliances

Box 4: spices

ETC...

Honestly they didn't even ask to see my list. But it's good to have a basic manifest.

They didn't even stare at my list. I'd itemized the contents of the box in a bit more detail if they were valuable, and I personally wanted to know. Border staff plain didn't care.

I numbered each box and labeled them: (books, dishes, etc) and then wrote it on a list. They didn't ask to see it.

Can someone show me where it's required to even do a list?

I'm pretty sure i'm foregoing this because my husband has every right to import his goods and there is no fancy limit on the amount he imports.

I think I only have to itemize any possibly prohibited or regulated items like food and weapons.

The only time I see a need for a list is when you have the potential to pay customs/taxes/duties of which he is exempt.

And if I HAD to provide a list, this is what mine would say:

Itemized List:

Toys

Junk

Clothes

Computer

TV

Cat

No form is needed if you plan to travel along with your goods, however, a manifest listing the items contained in your vehicle is necessary to present to the officer at the Port of Entry

Hey I said mostly.

It also includes my ace bandage wrap, my chapstick, my dental floss, and my rubass (which you would know as Rub A535 but i think it looks like it says rubass on the tube)

Just to name a few random things on my desk

Those things can't go in your purse? LOL

I admit, I had boxes that said "bathroom supplies" meaning - everything from TP to make up!
