It has been about 30 days and still no visa. CEAC still says "ready". I have emailed the KingstonIV address asking for a status update and behold, Friday 6/21 they replied with the standard "you will be contacted as soon as administrative processing is complete". They have all the paperwork, my fiance has not received any calls from the embassy with any questions or requests. So far by monitoring the ceac site his file has been updated 4 times (6/5,6/21,6/24,6/25). 6/21 and 6/24 were days they embassy replied to our inquiry emails.

I've read similar names and fingerprint hits can prolong the process. But he has a clean record and name isn't too common. He's never been to the US. I am just so frustrated that a US embassy has so much discretion with "Admin Processing" and no US agency has any authority other to make an inquiry on your behalf. I have read over and over that through JA the usual admin process is one month. I have also read many cases in Admin through JA where the applicant is informed they are being placed in admin either at the interview or by phone. It is unreal how embassy's can be so inconsistent. I have been communicating with 2 other V'Jers through JA. One exactly on our interview date, same visa, no status updates, told in admin processing. The other, one week afterwards, placed in admin one day, next day issued, but still no visa.

How are US Embassy allowed to have no protocol or uniformity when it comes to processing visas?

I know there is no timeframe for Admin Processing, but the not knowing how long is daunting. At least through USCIS process, there were expectations and steps one could take. It seems that just when you can see the light at the end of the tunnel, you realize you still have miles more to go.....
