Hi VJERS for the last few hours I have been trying to pay my husbands immigrant visa fee online ..(the $165 )before we go to the states next week. You have to create an account first on this site :

https://elis.uscis.dhs.gov/cislogin/privacyActStatementAction.do

But when I put in the email for them to send a confirmation link for us to create the account we have not received the confirmation email and the site says they have sent it. We have tried using multiple email addresses. Has this happened with anyone else ???? If so, what can we do? We need to pay the fee befor we leave for the states next week.

The site is really mucked.

You do not have to pay the fee before coming to the USA just that you will hopefully receive the green card faster if you do. I paid mine on the 4th. POE on the 10th. I assume I'll see my green card in the next few months?

yes that is what it states, but the truth is you do NOT have to pay before you go to the states

this fee is for your green card production

don't stress over it, pay it when you can.. call the help line if you can not get to the payment to process

you should be able to find the online customer service number to call about the site - call them - their hours are normal business hours - i.e. close at 6pmEST i think...monday through friday..

as NikiR said - the site does NOT work real well at all - we have all had problems of some sort...

but you will need the confirmation email - as i think you have to click the confirmation so that your account is activated....

i just looked - the email confirmation came from csr@uscis.dhs.gov

check your junk or spam folders - add that email address...

I know that letter says it but you don't have to. When the beneficiary departs to the USA, the POE will endorse the visa in their passport. That endorsed visa acts as a temporary green card for a year.

I would wait for the site to be working honestly and make sure that email addresses are working properly as well. Like it's been stated... check your spam/junk mail folders - make sure your spam is NOT deleted right away.

We had loads of trouble with the site too but were eventually able to pay. We just kept on trying (giving some time between tries) and finally it worked.

August 2008 - met when we were both living in England

February 2009 - began dating

May 28, 2011 - got engaged

August 5, 2011 - got married (in England)

September 29, 2011 - moved to Mexico

VISA PROCESS:

December 3, 2012 - sent I-130 to Mexico City (DCF)

December 6, 2012 - I-130 approved

December 14, 2012 - NVC case number assigned and instruction letter sent from Juarez Consulate but we NEVER received it

March 4, 2013 - called to check about our case and received our NVC case number and Invoice number

March 9, 2013 - submitted DS-260 online

April 17, 2013 - interview date - visa approved!!!

July 11, 2013 - POE: entered US through Dallas, TX

July 22, 2013 - Social Security Card delivered

August 22, 2013 - Green Card delivered
