My wife has just gotten her birth, police and marriage certificates. They are in Chinese. I read on LingChe NVC ShortCut .

" Translations - All documents not in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations.

  • The translation must include a statement signed by the translator that states that the:
Translation is accurate, and Translator is competent to translate."

Since Mandarin, is the official language of China, she does not need to translate these papers. Is that correct ? I just want to be sure, we are doing, what is correct, and she will not have any problems, when she goes for the interview.

Thanks in advance !

The embassy should accept documents in chineese ( check web site to make sure). But still get documents translated. She may need them in US like birth certificate, etc.

whoa.

you need 'white books'

this is covered, a bit, over at http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/393969-chinese-marriage-visa-terms-and-definitions/

Guangzhou IV expects to see white books. There are 3 or 4, depending.

1. birth certificate

2. marriage certificate

3. police clearance certificate

4. divorce certificate

these docs are submitted into NVC. When using EP , scans are made and submitted. Beneficiary must show the originals on interview day, so the white books do not need to travel across the pond, at all.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Thanks to all, for replying back to me.

Especially thanks to Darnell, again ! I will have the wife, get the "white books" and then have those converted into pdf files.

I bookmarked the link, and I have just email it to the wife. I will be in China, next month, and can get the pdf files then.

Once again, THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!
