when is a good time to phone about my I-130?

It has only been 1 month since I received my NOA1 so I know it's a little soon but I'm dying to know which field office it is going to be processed at so I can get an idea on time scales.

I'm hoping it will be processed at the national centre as we both live abroad and used that address as our main one, but the address we intend to live in Texas so from what I understand it's possible it could be routed to an office there as well?

Anyway, what would be a good amount of time to call and get an answer about this? and I understand you need to request a tier 2 representative to answer?

thanks for any help!

2013-22-05: Sent I-130 to Chicago Lockbox

2013-10-06: NOA1 received - Petition at Overland Park, Kansas

2013-11-12: Email stating our I-130 has been transferred to a local USCIS Office

2013-13-12: Email stating our I-130 was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office

Have now decided to do DCF through the London Embassy:

2013-22-10: Overnighted a second I-130 to London

2013-24-10: NOA1

2013-21-11: Letter requesting that we cancel our I-130 petition filed in the U.S.

2013-09-12: NOA2

You have long way to go..... no need to even think anout calling yet..... I filed 09/3012 and didn't get my NOA2 until 03/2013. If yours comes quicker consider yourself lucky, but for the time being, you need to just be patient. You have a very long way to go even after the NOA2. I have been waiting almost 3 weeks just to be given an interview date.

Look at timelines similar to your situation to get an idea, but even they aren't 100% accurate.

filed from abroad with an international address outside the US

you WILL stay at NBC

you will receive your NOA2 around the three month mark of your NOA1

just beware of RFE's and the challenge that may or may not come up if you need to address one

I filed my papers in the beginning of May and I started calling the beginning of June. Someone in the April Forum called one month after and then a few weeks after that and guess what. His petition was approved within two months. If you want to call, call. All they can tell you is what they know and it may sooth your nerves for a sec. There's no rules to when or when not to call. This is for you and your spouse so do what you feel is best for you. I would... As a matter of fact, I think I may call back today. LOl seriously though. Who knows maybe they will get tired of the calls and get them done.
