WASHINGTON (AP) — A government watchdog says lax oversight by the Internal Revenue Service allowed workers to use agency credit cards to buy wine for an expensive luncheon and, in one case, romance novels, diet pills and baby clothes.

Two IRS credit cards were used to buy online pornography, though the employees reported the cards stolen. One of the workers reported five agency credit cards lost or stolen.

A report Tuesday by the IRS inspector general found the vast majority of purchases by IRS employees legitimate. However, the report said the IRS has inadequate controls to stop inappropriate purchases.

The report said IRS credit cards paid for 28 bottles of wine at a 2010 luncheon for tax officials from other countries. There were 41 guests.

What is funny about this is that IRS employees who incur travel expenses on the job are required to have a government credit card. I would rather not have a government credit card but I am forced to carry one even though the last time I incurred out of town travel was in 2006.

I want the IRS using porn sites, it might mellow them out.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

That's nothing compared to what Obama is putting on the national credit card. I think he's ran up a 6 trillion dollar bill since he took office.

Just under $7 trillion. That makes him the largest spendthrift in the history of the world.

And here I thought that Congress has the power of the purse. President can't spend a penny that Congress doesn't authorize and appropriate. I'm sure that's written down somewhere. Some document of supposedly great importance. Man, if I could only remember...

I remember the big Secret Service scandal...

Big News---Secret Service agents partied and got laid while off duty.

I was thinking, if they were protecting my life with theirs I would want them to have some fun when not working also.

Geezh
