They arrived very late, but without any problems or harassment at POE. Adjusting to the new time zone is hard for one of the kids in particular, but we picked up right where we left off as a family, and I'm very, happy to have them back.

Of course, I'll be too busy to post a lot about it tongue.png

So far, they have seen the ocean (albeit at night) for the first time, and called everyone in Mongolia to tell them how smoothly everything went and how they're here.

For Darnell, I will put a picture, but please take note that they have seen "The Ring" so they are faceless.

Beautiful! I remember how anxious and stressed you were during her interview. You guys have been through a lot, and now you can finally start the period of their adjustment to their new surroundings! Love the kid with the American flag!

Since my fiance will be arriving on the night of the 3rd, my teen's girl friends have decided that they will deck the house out with handmade "Welcome Home" signs and an abundance of red, white, and blue balloons and American flags. It's cute to see everyone getting excited.

That's really cool.

I wish I had been able to do more to make them feel welcome, but I'm just happy to see them here. The adjustment to the new time zone has proved most problematic, so far.

The kids have been swimming non-stop (actually, they can't swim, but they've been in the pool.) We're all terribly sunburned.

Well, two of the kids learned how to swim somewhat fluently in two days, which is great for never having tried before.

My fiancee loves cleaning (yes, really) and rearranging, so she's been keeping the house very nice.

They love taco bell and hometown buffet, and were amazed at the size of drink you can get at mcdonalds for a dollar.

Everything's going well.

They look healthy so hopefully you don't encourage them to develop a diet that involves fastfood and soda. tongue.png

Just to make an update, as requested by someone...

Everyone's still happy. We got legally married on July 8, but didn't really have any ceremony (spending money celebrating ourselves seems stupid when we have four kids to take care of and only one of us can work.)

The kids can now swim proficiently. English is coming along little by little.

We need to get driving/licenses taken care of for my wife and two older step kids. English is still priority #1 though.

Otherwise, not much to tell. We'll apply for AOS when we receive the marriage certificate (maybe a few more weeks.)

Thanks for the update !

Any hope of digging in to a co-op or community garden, growing vegatbles this season? usually 60 to 80 bucks per year for the buy in...
