So after waiting 2 months, I called to get an update on my I-130 application. The first agent i spoke to actually said first thing that my case had been sent to a local office on April 19, which strangley was the date that the app was received at UCIS. Then I asked which local office was it sent to. She said that I didnt need to know that information. I very politely asked why, as the petentioner, didnt i need to know. She was rude and said you just dont need to know. I asked, do you have that information? She said yes, but again, that I didnt need to know it. So I decided to call for a teir 2 agent. After about a hour and forty five minute wait, a very polite man answered my call and told me that I was still at National Benefits Center, that it would take 6-9 months to adjudicate, then gave me NVC and State Dept. phone numbers in case I wanted to follow up later this year. He also suggested that I call back in a month or two to get an update. I assumed he meant call back to teir 2. I was very polite and he was as well. Should I trust his information about it not being transferred to a local office yet? I didnt sense any hesitation on his part to give me misinformation....thoughts? Did the first agent actually slip and make a mistake and tell me its at local office?

the first person was not an agent but a third party customer service person reading script

always ask for an IO/tier2 and forget about those who answer the phone... when u are transferred use the automatic call back system.. much easier than waiting and it works :)

local office transfers take place anywhere from 1-3 months into the process

you do not lose your place in line when this happens

the only bad piece of news is that centers in texas are pretty busy, so you are probably close to a five month wait

good luck!

Hi Guys :) We have submitted our I-130's for myself (British) and my son to move to the U.S. We got our NOA1 pretty quick and it's saying we are at Texas Service centre..does it leave from there to the NVC once we receive NOA2? Thanks in advance :) Samantha

I spoke to a io and she said that petitions usually don't get transfered unless something change with the case.

IO lied, most of the petitions after AUG12 are being transferred to local offices wether change or no.

IO's are known liars, they are given jobs because they are good at lying so people should not trust until they call few times to find out right answer. Personal experiance

Are you sure it is at Texas Service Center? because now a days almost all of i130's are directed to NBC and then local office.

I am one day ahead of you in the timeline, and our file is still at NBC and hasn't been transferred to a local office yet. My USC hubby called and spoke to a tier 2 yesterday.

Call again to make sure. I was given 5 different answers and only 1 was right about it.

We called at the one month and 6 week mark and were told the same thing...hate to be the bearer of bad news but I saw this on another thread yesterday:

Posted 25 June 2013 - 04:53 PM
This is an e-mail sent to my congressman's office regarding my I-130. When would they send the file to my local office...who knows? Anybody have any idea how long they been holding the standalone I-130 at NBC?
Good afternoon Susan,
All emails are targeted for completion within five days of receipt. We are aware that you are receiving an answer to your inquiry past the five day mark, and appreciate your patience.
Thank you for your inquiry regarding XXXXXXX’s Form I130 petition. This case was received in our office on 03/08/2013. At this time, the stand-alone Immediate Relative Form I130 petitions are being sent to the NBC for transition to the local field office of jurisdiction. However, due to the high volume of applications, these cases are currently being held at the NBC until further notice.
Again we would like to thank you for your inquiry and please let us know if we may assist with any other concerns,

Yes, this was my post about the response from a IO to my Congressmen's office. I called the Tier 2 again yesterday and he said it would be transferred anytime now and to keep checking with them once every 15 days and he also admitted that it is taking this long due to high volume of cases and sending the file to local offices in batches. Currently, my local office has this numbers for April:

Pending: 542
Completed: 234
Receipts: 204
So, I am not sure if they are backlogged again just like NBC or not.

I read the same thing. The person filed March but I checked Igor's list and April filers are starting to get approved. I guess it all depends of RFEs, background check, and probably much more.

I would rather look at the positive possibility instead of the negative. Helps to keep the sanity during the process. smile.png

Thanks for the update, KP & SP.

Well your local office is completing a lot of cases in a month it looks like so that is encouraging I think.

My local office says

pending 128

completed 24

receipts 51

I find it encouraging that they do not seem to have a high volume at least, even though they are not keeping up with receipts.

Hope we all see some action soon!!! I think everybody might be on holiday right now at USCIS... cray5ol.gif

Thank you for your replies :)..We don't know for sure that our application went to Texas? But when we entered our details on VJ for filing at Phoenix Lockbox, it said our application went to Texas service center?..Our timeline updated this automatically...so how correct is it? who knows :/...My husband will call them tomorrow
