Its going too fast.

My now husband got here in February, we got married in march, had our honeymoon and started filling out documents in April. Sent out documents (I 485 and EAD) and we got the appointment for the interview for the 22 of july, so in less than a month. We are supposed to demonstrate how well our marriage is going and all. Of course it is, but my husband hasnt even recieved his EAD yet... How are we supposed to show proof of how adjusted he is.. if its so early? He hasnt even been here 6 months yet.

We are sort of freaking out.

Relax. Breathe. For AOS the main thing they will want is a Marriage Certificate. Do you have any joint bank accounts or CC? Is your husband listed on your employer's benefit as the beneficiary? Is he your emergency contact? We had 5 months from marriage to AOS interview. Not much to show at that time. Any documents showing that he and ou live at the same address? THe AOS is about showing that the two of you are beginning the process of taking two seperate lives and merging them into a married couple. You do this by doing what most "normal" couples do. Combine assets and expenses.

The questions asked of us were those listed on the form. As she asked and my wife answered, the IO put a big red check mark to indicate that the response matched what was written on the form. It is typically a fairly simple interview. Just be sure to dress nicely, arrive early, and bring any originals with copies you think should be added to your file.

Good luck,

Dave
