From my experience, it should take at least 4 months from the date case is registered at embassy to interview appnt. I say at least 4 months because the longer u take to submit additional requested documents (birth certificates, police clearance, affidavit of support/tax returns, new passport photos) the longer they will take to get u an interview. Allow me to clear this up, my case was opened with Kabul embassy on July 30th. It took me about 2 months to provide all of the previously mentioned documents. So that pushed my case back by 2 months. So sept. 20th, I gave those documents to my lawyer (had a lawyer from beginning of case-having a lawyer will not expedite ur case. It will only ensure that ur Documents are in compliance). Anyways, around November 20th, my laywer was requested to fill out something online. I think it was the DS something form (not sure about document name so don't hold me to that). By jan 16th, I received letter notifying me of date of interview which was scheduled feb. 3rd. Interview was attended and placed under AP for the last 5 months and counting...

So Laila, if ur case was opened with embassy on may 13th, assuming u submitted everything on time, u should hear from embassy in about 4 months (middle of sept) regarding ur date of interview which would likely happen in oct. now, that's if all goes well with documents and they don't request anything else and submit them ASAP. Don't wait two months like I did.

salam MAHT jaan,

thank you soo much for the info and advice, but the problem is that i applied for k1 fiance visa and not the IR/1-CR/1 for marraige visa. i have been calling and emailing embassy regarding this issue but they just tell us to wait till they find a slot for interview for my fiance. hopefully i hear from them soon and just be done with all these waitings and so on. i have waited around 8 months for NOA2 and now 4 months for the stupid interview and god knows how long i will be waiting for the Visa :( may this holy month of ramadan shower us with blessings and accept our prayers and unite us with our loved ones. Ameen :)

We too are waiting for an interview date from Kabul. They received our package on 2 Jun and say that they are backlogged and will notify him of the interview date when it become available sad.png

in sha allah you will hear as well as me and some other people that are waiting for our interview. the consulate told us the same thing that they are back logged and so on but it makes no sense to me cause they should at least be doing interviews once a month for fiance visa. and then they will put the males usually in freakn AP which god knows how long ufff i am just done with this immigration and so on. soon it will be 1 year since i started the petition for my fiance. poor him always call the embassy and some lazy guy answers and without even checking the case, they just tell him to wait. i dont know how long more should we wait :(. anyways goodluck to u and to me and everyone that are waiting for this interview and just get all these things over so we could be with our loved ones again. :(
