So on one hand I'm really excited, everything finally moving forward. My case on the DoS Visa Status site was listed as "in transit" as of friday I called them for a DHL tracking number and was told there wasn't one, so it was sent electronically.

On sunday it changed to "Ready" on the DoS Visa Status site so I called the DoS today to see if it had arrived, but they said it wasn't in their system yet, so according to them it hasn't arrived yet.

So has it arrived or not?

Next thing, Rachel has set up an account online with ustraveldocs, but other than that, it doesn't appear she can do anything like pay the fees or find out any information as to where everything is at.

She has all of her P3 stuff ready to send, so it's just a matter of waiting for it to be sent out.

so we just want to know when we can make the next step, and what is the best way to find out when we can send the docs?

Thanks!

My advice is to wait for the P3, then sent back what they need. Because there is a form in it that you need to return (something can't be downloaded online), and a cover letter that you need to be allowed to take the medical exam.

The CGI Stanley site is really just for scheduling an interview and everhthing that happens after it. Technically you can schedule an interview with no problems now, but you also want your medical exam done at least two weeks before the interview, so the tricky thing is to get an intetview day not too early and also not too late. About paying the visa fee, your fiancee should be able to do it now, tell her to click choose a payment method at the paying fee page and she will know what to do. After paying you can see the available interview dates and schedule.

Emailing the consulate could find out if they have sent the P3 out. Even if you they tell you they already did, be prepared to wait for two weeks or so before getting it--I received the packet two weeks after being told it was sent... the same with two other people on VJ. But anyway, it's a shorter wait compared with what we went through. Good luck!

i always thought a ceac status of 'ready' means the casefile is opened at the IV Unit.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

She's in Shenzhen, so I wouldn't think it would take more than a couple days for it to reach her.

Anyone know if it needs to be signed for when it arrives?

Hi Rob and Rachel!

Looks like we are not too far behind you, we are Oct. 22nd filers. Our package from NVC shows a status of In Transit as of today. Sorry I don't have any good info, feeling kind of lost ourselves at this point. rofl.gif

Isn't the instruction sheet. The cover letter is the one that says the consulate is ready to process your visa application now and with your name and case number on it.

The staff at the hospital asked to look at it when I had my medical exam.

Hmmm well we might have actually mailed that in...I wonder if they will take the email appointment printout

I don't believe they will just leave the package outside your door if that is what you mean.

Have you heard anything yet? Just curious if the embassy had sent her P3 yet? Our status changed to Ready yesterday but she is not at home yet, visiting relatives. I don't want to have the package arrive and no one be there to accept it. Somewhat concerned.

Have you filled out everything on the http://cgifederal.force.com/ website? I filled out everything for her but was stopped at the payment option, they will not allow for me to make the payment online without a Chinese debit card and she does not have one. She plans to pay at a bank branch when she arrives back home but until we get the receipt number, cannot schedule the appointment.

No, nothing yet. Her family is moving back to that house, so they are there every day, but not all the time. Somewhat concerned as well.

She had sent an email, but it got kicked back because it wasn't the email address on file. Going to try again with my email address.

Yes, we've already signed up to the site!

Our status changed today to the below, has yours changed? Once my fiancee pays the visa fee, I'm going to go ahead and try to schedule the interview (heard lots of negative stories about this step though).

Administrative Processing

Apparently the AP above was due to them sending out her P3 packet today (06/28), called DOS to verify. Hopefully she can get home in time to receive it, they had very heavy rains in the area she is staying and many roads and crops were washed away. :(
