Wow $9000 the most I think Immigrations attorneys usually charge for the whole process is about $4000. You can use a visa service and that will cost about $1500 for all forms and NVC USCIS fees plus Medical as well as I864 fee. Or do it yourself like a load of members here have already done. Something doesn't seem right $9000????!!!!!

Yikes. But back to your original question about the email is that normal. Ummm I wouldn't think so. But what I have read of most lawyers is they don't like or do they deal with NVC.

Wat information did you need. And may i say I am sorry but at least you have us now so you can be on top of your lawyers okay.

In the end it will be money you will forget aout because you will have your family here.

Wow! That sounds insane! There are many many ways that you can do most of the paperwork yourself without having to spend a single penny! Just do your research to make sure you know exactly what every form is and what information you need to fill in to make sure you don't get anything confused and of course look over everything very closely before sending it away and that it! All it takes is time... and that will never be anywhere close to $9000!

Well in every place you will find people looking for easy money...

I paid $ 1.075,00 for me and my son for the whole process, and we had 3 lil problems... but they still problems !

Representation in obtaining the CR-1 visa. We will:

  1. Discuss your case with you and your wife to determine the facts, and what will be needed to obtain a CR-1 visa for her. Send you our information forms & CR-1 checklist, detailing the supporting documents you will need to send us, in order to prepare your petition for submission to the USCIS.
  2. Prepare the USCIS petition (I-130, Form G-325A, and all supporting documentation), and submit the petition package to the appropriate USCIS service center. With your cooperation, we will provide any additional information, which might be requested by the USCIS.
  3. Communicate by telephone, mail, fax, or email as necessary and appropriate with the USCIS regarding your petition while it is being processed;
  4. Prepare your affidavit of support, including all supporting documentation; prepare the affidavit of support of any joint sponsor, if necessary;
  5. Advise you as to what documents are required by the National Visa Center. We will organize these documents, and submit them on your behalf, after your petition has been approved by the USCIS, and after you have submitted payment to the NVC;
  6. When the National Visa Center approves your documents and schedules an interview for your spouse, we will give your wife advice on how to organize her documents, and advice on sample questions to expect from the Consulate at her interview;
  7. Communicate by telephone, mail, fax, and email as necessary and appropriate with the NVC and U.S. Consulate regarding your visa application while it is in process;
  8. Keep you advised of all significant developments in the progress of your case; and to copy you on all receipts, communications, and decisions received from the USCIS, NVC, or U.S. Consulate;
  9. When your CR-1 visa is issued, advise you as to what to expect next.

Our charge for these services is $975 ($500 to start; add $100 for children).

I didn't had any hide fee, or any surprise !!

All the process or any contact of USCIS, NVC or Embassy our lawyer kept contact with us and gave instructions on how to make things easy... or at least less painfull!

There is honest people in the world yet. And I kept asking and I wrote to NVC how many times I wanted during my process.

This lawyer should tell her price before sent the email, then you would have the chance to chose if you wanted to do it yourself, because the only difference you have when your lawyer keep contact is that they get the answer in 2 days, while the petitioner or beneficiary wait for 2 weeks for the answer!!!

That's not normal...fire your lawyer... If you don't have red flags, you can manage it on your own... We don't have lawyer, and we are almost done with our K1 process. Good luck !
