A 20-year-old man died Sunday morning after he and a group of men attempted a robbery and ended up in a shootout, police said.

Donald Davis was pronounced dead at 10:15 a.m. at Texas Health Harris Methodist Southwest Fort Worth, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner. Police said he and a group of three other men were trying to rob Anjoria Atchison, 29, in the 6700 block of Glenbrook Lane early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to a shooting call and found Atchison, 29, at 3:40 a.m. He was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital with a gunshot wound to the head, and remains alive Monday, police said.

Shortly afterward, police discovered that Davis and Drayon Perkins, 19, had been hospitalized with gunshot wounds. Police said they were involved in a shootout with Atchison.

Investigators have obtained a probable cause warrant for Perkins, police said.

Awesome another crime stopped by a legal gun nut. That is two in one day... First a fool gets killed trying to steal from people buying L. James shows and now this.

Imagine if every law abiding citizen had a gun.. Imagine ..

And how many gun homicides did we have today? Yep, right about 30. Just as we do every day. Total gun deaths today? About 90. Just as every day.

Imagine how much more death we could have if more people had guns. All these jobs. The additional dead would not only vacate the jobs they may have held but we'd also need more morticians.

So of that 30 I wonder how many would not be victims if they had been armed .

You'd think these stories would serve as somewhat of a deterrent. At least I hope they would. When you go stick someone up, there's a good chance these days they might have a gun to shoot back. I guess not.

Oh well. One less violent criminal to support in prison for the rest of his life.

The guy in this story has a gunshot wound to his head. Sounds like a victim to me.

Yup but he took one scum bag down and wounded two more. He did not get shot begging for his life like a wounded dog.

And who is to say he wouldn't have emerged from the robbery uninjured, if he hadn't had a gun and tried to be a hero with it?

We don't know half the story and the ultimate outcome, other than one dead bad guy, remains unclear. Trumpeting this as an advertisement legal carry is premature at best and may turn out to be fundamentally flawed. We shall see.
