Hello all!

I sen my AOS/EAD/AP application after getting married. All has been recieved by USCIS on April 9th.

On June 10th, my AP has been approved, but it is now stuck in post decision activity. It doesn't move to card production. I never recieved the notice in the mail (or text or e-mail for that matter)

My EAD case status is stuck in initial review, it doesn't say anything about my biometrics (which I went to)

My AOS case status is stuck in Acceptance, even though it does say that I did my biometrics.

My questions:

  • Should I just expect to recieve a combo EAD/AP card in the mail even if my status doesn't reflect that on the website?
  • Or will I recieve just the AP without the EAD?
  • Or will I not recieve anything because people taking care of the EAD don't have my biometrics in their systems?

I am a bit worried... What should I do to make sure I recieve my EAD?

Good luck in your visa journey!

I would suggest that you consider taking a deep breath and try to relax a bit. You will in all likelihood receive your EAD/AP combo card soon. A review of recent similar threads seems to indicate that it can take around 90 days for them to be processed.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Agreed with A&B.Take the USCIS updates more "lightly".

The fact that your AOS case seems stuck at the Acceptance stage is normal. It does the same to everybody and it doesn't mean your biometrics were not registered. It will eventually change if you get a RFE/are scheduled for an interview/are approved.

About the AP, I agree it does seem strange, but again, the USCIS update system is highly unreliable. Maybe someone forgot to push the button to update the status of your EAD, maybe it's a computer glitch. Anyway, I know for a lot of people (including me), my EAD status changed when it was approved, but the AP one was kind of stuck and didn't reflect any card production.

Anyway, the EAD processing time is 3 months. Until then, nothing you can do but wait and see what will happen. And relax. smile.png

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Yes, I am sure you are right. I didn't think I get that frustrated once in the US with my husband... But I am.

Anyway, I will take a deep breath and contemplate taking yoga lessons.

I actually called the USCIS yesterday. They put a service request for me on the EAD. Not that it will change anything, but if there is anything wrong at least they will notify me (in 2 weeks to a month)

We can ask for a service request if 75 days have passed since the case has been accepted and nothing has changed at all.

Now, I am going to sit down and relax a bit.

Thank you both!

The AP will never go to card production because the "card" is the EAD card. The AP is attached to it and won't have a separate card produced.

USCIS updates are very unreliable and you shouldn't rely on them.

That being said, how long since you sent in your AOS application?

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

A little bit less than 3 months still. I know I shouldn't worry too much. But I read those stories about misplaced cards that never found their way to applicants, people that didn't have their biometrics correctly linked to their EAD request... and then I was worried.headbonk.gif

I have a service request on my case now. So if anything goes wrong, I'll know it rolleyes.gif
