Should you place the N-400 at the front and the other documents behind it?

When you're gonna mail the application for naturalization, should you place the N-400 at the front and then the additional documents (copy of greencard, etc.) behind it? Or should the photocopies be placed at the front and then the N-400 behind the copies?

I'm thinking of using a paper clip to keep all of the papers together.

I don't think it really matters, as long as everything is there. I paper clipped 2 passport photos in the very front followed by the cheque, then the application and then a photocopy of the front and back of my GC.

How I did it: Cover letter, then cheque, then N-400, then all supporting documentation. I used a paper clip rather than any staples (since they dislike staples so!) to hold the lot together. My passport photos were contained in a ziploc bag to protect them, and that was attached directly to the N-400 in front of all the documents they requested.

Order isn't crucial, but I figure since it's the main application, have it up front.

As with any application it makes little sense to put the evidence before the form... because the evidence means little until they know what it's evidence for so they'd have to sift through to the form before they can start the data-entry.

I did - G-1145 in front (so it wasn't missed), check and photos (because they were small) then N-400 then supporting docs behind.

Honestly though, I'm sure they'd figure it out no matter which way you do it!

I had the cover letter and check up front, then the N400 and then evidence in the order I listed it on the Cover Letter.
