beneficiary change of address

I've moved house in Australia while waiting for my noa2. We were transferred on 2013.06.21, not sure where yet. The online change of address tool is for people currently in the US. You can't even enter a foreign address. How do I change my address so my consulate can contact me when they get our file?

To avoid starting a separate thread, I'm anticipating noa2 in the next few weeks. I've not understood from the guides exactly what the process is once that happens. What should we be doing right now to get ready for the next step? Should I be getting my police report or trying to book a medical? Should my fiancée and cosponsor be completing and sending i134 or other docs?

Thanks

Hello!

I just went through this. My fiance and I both live in Ireland, and we moved after our NOA1. Once we got our NOA2, I contacted the embassy asking what to do, and they told me to contact NVC. I rang NVC, they didn't have our case yet, told me they could not change anything and I would have to call back again once they had the file in the system. I waited 6 days and called NVC again, I missed my case! It had been recieved the day after I first called, and left NVC 2 days later. So I got back onto the embassy and they told me they would update the address once they recieved it. They did not! Luckily our friends still live at our old address, so they got our Packet 3.

So, I would advise trying to catch it at the NVC. NVC recieved my case 2 weeks after my NOA2. Just keep calling every day so you don't miss it. If you're unlucky like me and you do miss it, get in contact with the embassy. Make SURE they update you address because I'm guessing you don't have someone at you old address to collect it for you! Good luck!!

Thank you for sharing with us :)

Don't try to change you address with the USCIS. Wait until the NVC.

Thank you thought as much!

Damn, sounds like it could be a problem. I've forwarded all my mail and I own the old place, so I could instruct my tenant to collect it if it comes by courier. What method of post did you guys get?

I'm in the same situation.

I've received my NOA2 yesterday, but my fiance (beneficiary) moved to a new apartment a few days ago.

I called USCIS and they told me that I would have to send a mail or fax in the change of address to NVC after they notify me that they've received my I-129F.

I'm afraid the same thing might happen to me where the NVC will mail out the documents to the embassy before I get a chance to send them the change of address.

Would anyone be so kind and post the customer service number for NVC?

I asked USCIS, but they "claimed" they didn't have it.

A recent post has been split into its own thread, also in the K-1 Process forum, with this title: "Wait for NOA2 before Changing Beneficiary's Address? [split topic]."

VJ Moderation

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
