Translations of documents

My fiancee is going to the Italian embassy and she lived in Germany for 2 years so she received her criminal records from Germany. She has to have these papers translated and notarized. Can she send me a scanned copy of the criminal records so I can find someone to translate it for her here? She said it was really expensive for someone to translate it in Italy. We already have a person to notarize the original back home in Italy. Thanks for your help!

How could you get the translation in one country and have the translation notarized in another? A notary witnesses the signing of a document to state that the person signing is indeed who signed it.

Does Italy state they require the translation to be notarized? If someone is fluent in both languages, they can do the translation themselves> http://www.visajourney.com/content/translations
