Do all of it nothing to wait for. get started Now

The police report will take 1 - 6 weeks depending how much you pay.

It will take a few days to fill out all the forms.

If you are filling out the forms in the US then sending them to Thailand for signatures, plan on about a week to get there

You will need tax transcripts. That will take about a week. The beneficiary will need an original / notarized birth certificate + plus translation. That will require a trip to the birth town. While your there, get the free to marry certificate. (if children are involved)

So just a question. We are approved should be at NVC this week. Then to BKK.

What parts of packet 3 Should we be doing and what parts should we wait on for the letter'?

Joshua

Prepare all docs required now for submission after you are SURE the case is an the I V section. Doubtful there will be any letter as I think they use email now. Keep in mind that these cases are sent to the consulate section first and then transferred to the I V section across the street which takes longer than you would think. Due to this the I V section would report they don't have the case if you inquire too early.

Your fiancée should begin now to obtain the police report. Last Oct they changed the system to include a charge of about 300 baht. Have her call the BKK police to confirm the fee and how its paid. If there is no need for a serious background check she will have it in about 2 weeks. If you send me a P M I will forward a direct line phone number to the right cops or she can just call the reception. There is a lot of bad info about obtaining these reports most of which simply isn't true. I just got one for someone and it went very well.

She can go at anytime now to have her medical done. It is good for about 6 months. It takes a few hours and she will leave with the docs to send or submit to the embassy. She has time to get her shots at her local doctor to save money. If that is done she will need to make sure she brings the records to the hospital.

Send her your signed 134 now. It is not a requirement to submit tax info but it is a good idea. Get this free from IRS on the web. Takes about a week to receive or get in in person from your local IRS office.

There will be a visa fee that she can pay at a Thai post office. This can be done at any time including the day before her interview. There is a Thai post office just across the street from the embassy behind the high rise building for example. Its just to the left of the parking lot down a little soi.

Ning says it so much better then I do.

You'll want to put your BKN number on all your docs, so you'll need to get that from NVC then verify the IV unit has your file before you send the packet to the Embassy.

I found email very responsive at both NVC and the Embassy.

So once the documents leave NVC and get to the Embassy prepare our docs I need the NVC number first right. That is the case number that is used for the rest of this process?

I dont understand why people are saying send the documents. They are all in PDF. You can fill them in for your fiance e mail it and she can print it out. The only one that is any issue is the online evisa forum and that one when you are done you can print to PDF then mail to your fiance.

Am I missing something here for the forms?

There are a stack of forms to be sent by some method. Yes they can all be put in PDF and emailed. However the quality of internet shops varies greatly. Some of the printers are pure #######. I've seen some of the documents my girlfriend printed, they were barely readable. And remember you need three sets of documents, two for the beneficiary, and one for you.

Additionally the intent document needs an original signature from both of you. You will also have original bank letters and emplyment letters which need to be sent.

I found it a lot simpler to print out all the documents here. Collate them into two sets one to be mailed by her to the IV unit and one set to take with her to the interview. I can use good quality paper and a good printer, put everything together in a nice packet. Sign where I need to and send it off. It cost $100 but well worth it in my opinion.

If the beneficiary has their own computer equipment and are capable of making good copies then sure you can email, but you still need to send original signatures from you, so why not send the whole thing.

I don;t know if neatness counts, but it can;t hurt.

Yes, you will need the BNK number first. You will get that from NVC. Don;t send anything to the IV unit until they have your file in hand. I put the BNK number on the header of every page. I'm not sure that is required, but it can;t hurt.

The 134 from requires a wet signature for example. Send the docs can mean and be done by many methods.

Yes but the USCIS # can help and be used if needed. Of course the NVC # tells the embassy they have processed the case.
