Form I-134 Affidavit of Support

Hi all - just something I would like to clarify:

Apparently the above document has to be presented at the Embassy at the time of the K1 interview, which is fine.

However on London's website is clearly states that it is also possible for the beneficiary (ie me) to self-sponsor, provided I have sufficient funds to do so, which can be proven by a bank letter containing details of balance, deposits etc.

So my question is - does anyone actually have any experience of personal funds being accepted in lieu of the I-134? I have always been led to believe that the beneficiary's personal funds are largely irrelevant...but what I am reading on London's website contradicts this...

I spread sheeted my assets, he took a quick glance. I had documentation but not looked at.

Your asset funds do count in London. Any current salary that won't continue in the US wouldn't. I remember two threads where people self sponsored. One had around $40k and the other had $52k as I recall. And there is a post in the current pinned UK NOA2 to interview thread where the beneficiary self-sponsored with a combination of income he earns from phone app sales and $8000(?). Can't think of the name. Maybe Louise Paul?

My fiance is going to self-sponsor (though we have a co-sponsor I-134 ready just in case). He had his property in London valued/appraised and signed off on, and had his other assets signed/notarized somehow. Other assets being savings accounts, stocks/bonds, etc.
