At my interview there was a couple behind me who were there for a K3 and I heard the officer asking them for the USC's original marriage certificate, which they did not have(they did have the death certificate though). I was really worried for them(as they were) because the officer made it sound like it was really important. They ended up getting the visa, but I don't know what happened since I was interviewed first and left, so they might have found it or something. Anyway, my point is, they do ask for it in Vancouver so it would be best to have it.

Wow. I guess it is a good thing I am stuck in Canada. Finding out I need all these extra Original Documents, it would be harder having to try to get all these things if I was still in the US.

Hi

I just received my packet 3 from Vancouver US consulate today. Going for

K3.

That question confused me too...it says under Divorce and Death Ceritificates

",obtain one certified copy of your marriage certificate and one certified copy

of your devorce decree, annulment, or death certificate" for prior marriage!

I can't believe they need a marriage certificate from my husbands previous marriage

I would think the divorce cert would be good enough!

That seems strange to me too. You would think a Divorce Certificate would be enough proof. I totally lucked out today, I phoned one of my neighbors, she works at the Courthouse. I wanted to ask how long it takes to get them, price, etc. She said she will get them tomorrow and drop them off to me for nothing!! Any little thing that makes this process go easier makes me happy! :)

There are a lot of "strange" requests as far as I'm concerned...lol I wanted no opportunity for anyone to tell me, after flying to Vancouver, "oops, you forgot to give us your....". My Vancouver checklist said, marriage certificate. I brought it. They took it. I got the visa.
