The non stop attempts at making TM look like the "bad guy" are so, so sad.

It's the only thing the right wing and gun nuts - not sure there is much of a distinction there - have to hang their hats on. They will trample on a dead kid's grave without giving it a second thought. After all, in their view, a killed black kid is just one less problem for society to deal with down the road. It's quite pathetic but what do you expect?

Why is representing what it the truth bad. Why ? Because it does not fit neatly into your pretty little box of politically correctness. TM was what he was. I am not saying GZ was without fault, but TM was a violence prone street thug. Sorry if that fact disturbs you.

What disturbs me was the medias attempt to portray him a rosy faced little 13 year old boy, who was skipping down the street eating skittles and was gunned down by a maniac without provocation for being in a white neighborhood.

He attacked GZ and GZ defended himself...which he had the legal right to do. That is why the officers on the scene that night did not arrest him, because it was clear to them that the shooting was justified

Sorry to bust your bubble but the lead investigator wanted Zimmermann arrested and charged with manslaughter the night of the crime. He did not believe Zimmermann's account of what happened that night.

Yet now he's charged with 2nd degree murder and not manslaughter.

Soon it will be in the hands of a jury and the VJ know it all blowhards can start preparing their arguments of it was/was not a fair trial and argue for another year or two. Lot's of hot air being blown out of the puckered hole on both sides. The trial by jury will decide.

It all a had a lot to do with his mindset. GZ defense will maintain TM was a violent street thug who attacked him without provaction. His history will prove this was not out of character for Saint Skittles, but was in fact a very predictable behavior pattern for TM.

For the last time-- The dispatcher did not tell GZ to not get out of the car. He told him to not follow.him. GZ was already out of the vehicle and turned to walk back to it and was attacked.

Was TM profiled for being a young black man dressed in the uniform of a Thug and wandering around a middle class mostly white neighborhood.? Yes he was more than likely. They had already had several break ins committed by young black males in thug attire. Did you want him to profile or be suspicious of 60 year old women ?

What many of you will not admit is we have a problem with our young black males in this country. They are committing crime and dropping out of school at way disproportionate numbers for their percentage of the population. It's pandemic and a lot of us are tired of being told because we recognize this and we declare the right not let it affect our rights or property, we are somehow racist.

Yes I profile young black men with hoodies and baggie pants in my area. If I seem them gathered at a place I don't stop. I avoid them like the plague. If i see one wandering around my neighborhood , yes I am going to have my sidearm near and pay them close attention.

People that look like TM had been committing a lot of crime in his neighborhood, why would he turn a blind eye to this to appease the gods of political correctness. Sorry not at the expense of my life.

I hate TM life was wasted, but it was already being wasted before he met GZ. We have got to get back to a point in this country that those who work and have morals stand against those who do not. regardless of race.

But what you and everyone else that thinks TM is the aggressor is loving to forget is this: What was Trayvon Martin doing that night when GZ decided to follow him, or conduct "surveillance" as some would call it? You said we have a problem with black males, and you're correct but we also have a problem with white males that shoot up schools, malls, movie theaters, and just streets.

What was wasted about his life? He was 17, his life wasn't over by yours or anyone's standard. And to judge him for a few mistakes that I know plenty of folks on here have done while young and even now is wrong. He didn't commit a crime, yet he was treated like he did, it's wrong no matter how you cut it.

You're missing the point. His story didn't add up the night of the crime. It still doesn't add up. There are so many inconsistencies in his story that those close to the investigation felt it would be appropriate to arrest and charge him. That has since happened. A charge for murder two does, by the way, include the lesser charge of manslaughter.

There are two sides to the this story. Unfortunately, only GZ will be able to present his version. TM may end up being judged on his past and maybe that won't present him in the best of light. And what he did in the past doesn't mean he provoked his own death. We're responsible for our own actions and the company we keep. A new case is brewing here in NE with Patriots player Aaron Hernandez. No charges have been filed and yet his past is already plastered in the local news.

It's ridiculous. I don't care what kind of kid he was. I don't care if he had a picture on his phone of a gun. I don't care if he'd smoked weed. I don't care what kind of student he was. Neither should you, because it has nothing to do with what he was doing that night. As far any story goes, he wasn't being a thug committing a crime.

I've seen no media attempt to portray TM the way you say they have. All I've heard them say is that he was a kid minding his own business walking home from buying candy. And that's true. What pictures he had on his cell phone have nothing to do with what happened to him that night.

But if TM's past matters so so much to you, you should ALSO choose to focus on the past of the other person involved in this story. Because it isn't pretty either.

At least be consistent.

Who will lose sleep over one less gang banger?

Yeah. See, it's this attitude. Kid was nothing but a thug and a gang banger, so who cares what happened to him anyway.

He attacked GZ and GZ defended himself...which he had the legal right to do. That is why the officers on the scene that night did not arrest him, because it was clear to them that the shooting was justified

Prove to me that he attacked GZ. If GZ can prove it, he'll walk.
