Hello everyone. My k1 process has been going so great until yesterday. We are scheduled to have our interview Wednesday of this week. I am in Manila to attend. When my fiancée went to get her NBI they told her it won't be ready until Thursday, no way around it.

My question is will the embassy still allow us to have our interview and then return the document or will they tell us we will have to reschedule?

Any insight will be great.

Your fiancee should have requested for NBI when you received your packet. NBI clearance is one of the most important requirements. US embassy is strict and they will ask you to reschedule if you have incomplete requirements as per stated in the K1 guideline. However, you can ask your fiancee to bring her POLICE CLEARANCE, I'm not sure though, if it is acceptable.

I experienced the same thing too; I got my NBI clearance after 2 hours of waiting. To OP: is there any way your fiancé's name is a hit? If not, I think you should re-appeal to any nbi clearance office, you should just get it right away.

You got two options, go ahead and attend the interview but expect to get 221g on the way out. Send that NBI as soon as possible through 2Go and expect delay in releasing the visa.

Or cancel the original schedule at least 2 days prior, reschedule the interview but it's never a guarantee that you'll get anything at least 2 weeks from that date. Attend the interview with NBI and you'll get approval right there and then.

My wife then fiancée got her NBI same day. I believe you must have NBI for your passport if I am not mistaken.. If I am correct, does your fiancée have her passport? You need her passport at the interview.

Correction guys. Its the Cenomar that she won't have until Thursday. She already has her passport. The cenomar folks said there is another person with the same exact name so they will have to do investigation.

CENOMAR is processed n 2 weeks from the application date. Its government's timeline. Takes longer if something is wrong with the process like having the same name with another person who could be married. Its best to reschedule my opinion only. the CENOMAR is very important in this whole visa process.

Lesson learned, do not wait until the last minute before you gather all the documents for the interview.

She can proceed with the interview but expect to receive a 221g form for the cenomar. Mail it in ASAP because they won't issue the visa until they receive the document. Expect a few days or weeks of delay.
