ki visa denials

Has anyone heard that recently more ki visa have been being denied than previously. Yesterday I spoke to a lawyer who told me that immigration officials are upset with current bills in congress concerning immigration reform and have been looking for more reasons to deny a visa. I also spoke to a woman at catholic charities who helps people fill out forms, say that she has noticed an increase in denials of K1 visas.

if u have sufficient evidence, a real relationship and a complete petition, you do not have to worry

there is no "governmental initiative" taking place to deny applicants

if you read the stories of denials, they all have some issues that came up, mostly with the bona fides

K-1 decisions are made at the overseas consulates, by Department of State employees, not by USCIS employees. The petition requesting permission for a family member to apply are processed by USCIS and as long as someone satisfies the requirements - are a US citizen, have met the beneficiary within the last 2 years and can prove it, and is free to marry and can prove it, etc., there is no reason for the I-129f or I-130 petitions to be denied. To try and find ways of denying them - and they do have to provide a reason that can be supported by legislation - sounds like a lot more work than just processing the visas. This sounds more like a political football to fit one or the other of the political agendas used to try and sway public opinion for or against this 'hot topic'. If you have a well prepared petition, provide all of the required attachments, have all of the necessary documents, no extenuating circumstances with immigration, legal or medical 'issues', and a valid relationship it is highly unlikely a K-1 visa will be denied unless your beneficiary is from one of the traditionally high fraud countries, in which case denials are not going to be based upon being upset about proposed legislation in Congress, but by the same local criteria that already exist.
