Hi,

I am extremely frustrated right now at USPS and USCIS both... don't know what to do...

I came here on a fiance visa, applied for my green card, plus EAD and AP on April... On April 15 I got the receipt notice both by email and text. Last week on the USCIS website my EAD seemed to be approved + sent for production. I never got an email or text regarding this.

A couple of days later the website updated to 'we sent the document to your address'. I never got an email or text regarding this either.

Yesterday the website updated to 'USPS reported your card was delivered on June 20' and it had a tracking number. (No email or text regarding this either) But it's June 21 now and I never received it. When I run the tracking number on USPS it says 'we delivered it yesterday 1.45PM'. Doesn't say a full address, but the zipcode checks out.

I live in a high rise apartment building. We checked all the records of arriving packages (thinking maybe there was a mistake in apartment number or such) but no sign of a package with that tracking number.

So what do I do now... I'm going to contact the post office tomorrow but I'm not setting my hopes high. And I think USCIS requires you to wait some time before you can apply for a replacement card? Or do I have to re-apply?

Is it even worth it to re-apply? My green card should arrive in a couple of months anyway...

Thanks for any help.

Besides contacting the post office to try and track it down, you should contact the USCIS and make sure they have the correct address for you. You stated you got notice by email and text for your receipt notice, but did not mention getting the NOA in the physical mail.

I contacted USCIS but the representative said they had no way of accessing my personal information so I couldn't confirm the address. I didn't get any NOA in any format, including physical mail, email, text etc. There had been no movement on the whole thing for two months, and then the status updated very quickly over the course of a couple of days from Initial Review to document sent.

You need to ask for a tier 2 immigration officer. They have access to your case. The tier 1 folks that answer the phone cannot help you. Since you have received nothing, it seems your address may be incorrect. You can also make an infopass appointment, if your local office is near enough, to get things sorted out.

Ask the tier 1 person that answers your call to transfer you to an immigration officer that will be able to help you with your case information since they cannot. Be persistent. They are required to escalate your call if you ask.

Okay, I'll do that. Thanks a lot.

Coming to my second question though - EAD is not necessary at all for the green card, right? If I can't fix anything about the EAD, this doesn't affect anything about the green card, and after the GC arrives I will be able to work anyway?

So after talking to the post office and USCIS I've come conclusion that my EAD was lost in the mail....

this is unbelievably frustrating. So what do I do now?? Is there even a reason to apply for another one since my green card should be coming in 2 to 3 months??
