infopass appointment 'stuff'.

the person that you talk with is never the person who will adjudicate your petition, so keep that in mind.

The person that you talk with has little to no knowledge about actual I-130 adjudication processes that are occuring in another part of the building

IME, is best to ask for other people, when you are sitting in front of the glass.

Ask for the floor supervisor or the shift supervisor and then ask that person to talk with the I-130 Adjudication Unit Supervisor. If they act dumb about this, ask instead for a telephone conference from their desk to the desk of the I-130 Adjudication Unit Supervisor

Whew ! OK SO FAR? Some questions to ask at the infopass:

1. has my casefile been assigned to an adjudicator yet? if yes,
2. how much longer will it take for my casefile to be adjudicated?
3. what is your normal turn around time from approval to send-out to NVC? I know you have to scan stuff into the A-File - how backlogged is the records unit on doing the scanning, currently?
4. You know the case is to go to NVC, right? My spouse is not chasing after 'adjustment of status' in the USA, so please DO NOT SEND my approved petition to the NRC.

5. How often do you send approved casefiles out to NVC ?

6. My casefile will be turned into an electronic casefile at NVC - I absolutely need you to submit all of the bonafide marriage evidence that I submitted with the casefile, into NVC, keep it with the casefile, do not toss it or send that on to NRC.

---

other question lists I've put out over the last few months:

--

b. how many I-130s did your office approve for May 2012?
c. how many I-130s did your office approve for June 2013 ?
d. Did the FBI namecheck come back already, or no?
e. Was the FBI namecheck submitted yet?
f. How many casefiles are ahead of mine, as of yesterday?
g. When do you think my casefile will be assigned to an adjudicator?
h. How many more days till my casefile is adjudicated?
i. How often and with what frequency do you send off the approved I-130s to the National Visa Center?

----

1. Is my casefile tagged to go to NRC or NVC ? Please retag it to go to NVC.

2. Where is my casefile today?

3. Did you sent it out to NVC? What date did you send it on to NVC?

4. What is your frequency for casefile shipments into NVC, after approval ?

5. Do you understand that my casefile is going for NVC Doc Intake and further Consular adjudication? You do understand that we're not doing an adjustment of status in the USA, my wife is outside of the USA and we are chasing a Visa, yes?

----

So - if you have a moment, please prep a list of questions . Go Get Em, and Good Luck ! Report back when yer able.

Repeated for Emphasis - the person behind the glass cannot help you - you must get someone else.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

3) The letter states, on 3/15/10, the local office received our case. Does our time start over, from 3/15/13 ?

No - officially it starts from the date in the NOA-1. The receipt notice date. If anyone at the local office tries to persuade you otherwise, you need to remind them that the local office is to adhere to the national processing timelines, and not just process I-130s headed to NVC at their own whim.

I went to Infopass today. I never did get past, the lady, behind the glass. However she did provide me, with a few details about our case. My case has been assigned recently, the woman said, that is good, because they have many cases that have not been assigned yet. She said case completions, range from few weeks to 60 days, or longer for problem cases. The woman, also put in a "service request" about our case.

All in all, I happy, with the results, at least, our petition, is not sitting in the corner pile, of unassigned cases.

Hello Darnell,

Thank you for the questions to ask, and advice, my wife, and I greatly appreciate it. She sent me a text message, when I was at the window, talking to the woman, behind the glass. For my opinion, it looks like, she is sitting behind 3 inches of plexiglass/lexan, probably bulletproof also. My wife she very happy, to hear, we are on someone's desk !!!

Cool - some movement. Not exactly stellar news - but some movement.

at least you have an idea that the longest turnover is 60 days from the date it was assigned to an adjudicator.

After approval, remember, there is going to be 'more time' for the I-130 unit , they send it to another part of the building to create the 'A-File' before sending it on to NVC.

Then it has to be sent on to NVC - and local offices have their own 'schedule' for getting it out to NVC. If you want, you can go in again for an infopass appointment,

or

start that longish dialogue with the Immigration Liason Staffer back at the Congressionman's office.

Go Get Em, and Good Luck !

Yes, some movement, is good news, definitely not stellar news, but a step, in the right direction. Even a journey of a thousand miles, is begun with a single step !

60 days, being the max, I am leaving for China, on July 17th, and will be back the 13th, of the following months, almost 4 weeks in Hefei. I am hoping for an approval, while, I am in Hefei, as I have all my papers, for NVC, and my wife is getting the translation done, on her papers this week. So, all papers will be with me in Hefei, if a miracle happens, We are ready for EP filing !!! Also, it would probably provide a few nights, of extra good loving ^_*

You would have to remind me of that ! lol I know, it will be additional time, before it gets to NVC, and more time, for NVC to process it.

When I get back from Hefei, I will another Infopass, if it is still at local office. If at NVC, it will be time, to call my favorite Senator's office, and talk to the person, who is handling my file there.

Once again Darnell, thanks for the advice and support !!!
