I talked to someone at the DOS today about my case that hasn't been logged into the system yet. She told me that if I received my NOA2 in the mail (which states that the petition has been forwarded to the listed consulate), then that means it has left the USCIS. Does anyone know if that is true? If that is the case, then the hold up is on the national visa center's end. I guess I am trying to figure out exactly where my petition is exactly. She said to expect it to take several weeks. But here on VJ it seems like the majority are getting their case numbers within a week or so. I am worried.

Are you near a local USCIS office? If so, schedule an infopass appointment. They will be able to tell you if you case has left USCIS and where they sent it. OR if you have luck you might be able to get through to a Tier 2 and have them tell you.

There are times when the case is sent to the wrong location (NRC instead of NVC) or in my case Texas had to sent it back to Vermont before they sent it to NVC. It's best to get in touch with USCIS first and confirm where your case is according to them. I think InfoPass is the best if you are able to do it.

If it has been more than 15 days you need to email NVCResearch a scanned copy of your NOA2 and ask them to locate your case.

I don't know if they do this, but since your NOA2 was approved very quickly maybe they are trying to process cases that have been waiting for 6 months before getting to yours. Again, I don't know if they do that but who knows. We waited 6 months for NOA2, then 1 month for NVC to receive it after NOA2. (7 months from NOA1 to Case Number Assigned).

Thanks for answering. I am not near a USCIS office, but I have called and spoken to tier 2 four or five times and they tell me that they cannot tell me that information and that I just have to wait. I guess the most frustrating part is the lack of consistency in the answers I am getting from both USCIS and NVC. I just want to know WHERE my petition is at this point, and no one seems to be able to tell me.

Did you email NVCResearch? Have you contacted congressman and/or senators office? Did you contact Ombudsman?

Just imagine if you had to wait 6 months for your NOA2, haha.

I know :( I am stubbornly hoping to hear something before this weekend.

Yes, I have emailed NVCResearch, faxed the VSC and called and emailed them, and contacted both my congressman and senator. I think I have exhausted my resources. I suppose I can write the ombudsman and give it one last shot.

I was appreoved July 3 at TSC. I have contacted BOTH Senators, my US Congressman, the combudsman. Still my case sits at TSC, yet I see where people approved july 16 at TSC are already sent to NVC.

How do you know that it is still at TSC? Have you called USCIS and had someone confirm that it is still there? I'm not sure if the petitons are getting stuck on the processing center end or at the NVC.

yes, everyone agrees its at TSC, going through" final processing". What final processing??? Hell it was approved July 3. Personelly I think it is at the home of one of TSC employees who only turns in work every now and then. That would explain why some are shipped to NVC faster than others. I mean there are people approved july 16 that their files are at the NVC.

My NOA2 was 6/13. My case didn't get shipped to NVC until 7/10!

I scheduled an InfoPass appointment to find out what was going on for 7/8. They told me that their was an issue with my case and TSC had to send it back to VSC. On 7/8 they told me it was in transit back to TSC from VSC. The officer said it didn't say what the issue was, but one member was told by her senator that TSC told them VSC forgot to put a seal on it. Who knows?

They cleary had some kinks to work out with this TSC transfer. And I think they are worked out mostly and that is why we are seeing recently approved cases at TSC make it to NVC quicker than cases approved a few weeks ago. This is just me guessing.

I know it sucks. I too saw people with NOA2s a week after mine getting sent to NVC before me. Just hang in there and know that your case will be sent soon. If you really want to know what's up schedule an InfoPass appointment at your local USCIS.

I live in north east corner of Tennessee. Our "local office" is in Memphis which is 8 hours away. I can drive to Washington DC faster than drive to Memphis. There is office in Charolette NC ( 2 hours away), but it only serves North Carolina residents. I must have a black cloud over me.
