Must have been the same guy I talked to the other day haha. Most have been nice, but a few acted like I was committing a crime by calling. What I do now is just say thank you and hang up before they ask me any questions.

If they don't want people calling everyday they should make an online status checker like USCIS has. I know they have that already for cases that are already in their system, but they should make another system that tracks incoming cases based on the USCIS receipt number.

Very well could have been the same person. I am going to change the time I call and start calling in the evening and hopefully he'll already be off shift :)

I do agree, it wouldn't be too hard since they know they are getting cases from USCIS to create the system to search for both USCIS number or NVC (Consulate) number. They obviously do that on the phone, so it wouldn't be difficult to set it up for us to do it. But of course, then all these operators wouldn't be quite so necessary

Just called again for my case status, my package has arrived, but not yet inprocessed, so no case number assigned yet. Asked about the email/text notifications, said that they can't add those requests since I don't have a case number yet. Just call back later.

I just received my NOA2 hardcopy. Approved on 21st, according to envelope stamp, they mailed it out on Jun 24th from Texas. Got it today on Jun 27th.

Mine also says: "The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate." NO consulate listed anywhere...

And for some reason my receipt date on NOA1, NOA(transfer) and NOA2 are different.. December 5, December 6, December 7. You guys have same thing?

Applied for an expedite on 13 Jun for military reasons, my NOA2 was approved the next day on 14 Jun. Started calling last week Friday, then tried again on Tuesday, then today. Came from the California Service Center, so guess that's about 9 business days so far. Will try again tomorrow, hopefully I'll have a case number then.

I got a NOA2 on 14th of June. My fiance called NVC a couple hours ago and we got our case number. NVC also advised that they got the case yesterday. I was approved at CSC

I know it is difficult to wait... I know you feel like you're putting your life 'on hold', but believe me at the end it's all worth it!

I just called NVC (NOA2 June21st) and they sound very nice. Waited for about 15 minutes, but guy was very attentive asked my approval date, receipt number, what it says on NOA2.. He said that application is in the building but not processed yet, it usually takes about 15 days to process application completely. He also said that it goes first to NVC and only they send it to consulate.

About email notifications.. same thing - call us next week. :)
