You are correct but at least that's what they have been telling us that it may take up to 8 weeks so we don't call them often.

Thanks for your response. Did you get this email also before getting your case number? Well with a different date of course... On July 17, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

How long did it take after this for you to get the case number and have it shipped off? 4 weeks from the date on the status email? I appreciate your help.

Good Luck on the rest of your journey! smile.png

Just wanted to thank you for trying to answer everyone's questions in here today. smile.png

The appreciation is always most welcome, but it really is the least I can do. VJ has helped me (actually still helping me) so much that the least I can do is take what I learn and share it with others. Pay it forward so to speak. This really is a crazy time, as most of us only go through this thing once, and each step is filled with new rules & the nuances of traversing it can really only be known from experience and since most of us only do it once, having the experience of others to lean on makes the process so much better. Even if we "know" what we need to do, sometimes it's nice just to hear that confirmation from those who have gone through it to put your mind at ease. VJ is probably one of the best resource forums I've ever ran across on the internet. There is always a few crackpots everywhere, but for the most part, this is an amazing community. Anything I can do to try to make it just a little better for the next person is a small price to pay.

Where did you read about that? Every post I've ever read about London says they don't need relationship evidence or any of that, Nich Nick's posted numerous times saying that and the London Embassy site doesn't list any of those required documents for the interview either. The VJ guide asks you to make a duplicate copy just incase, incase any of the original stuff gets lost and so you can go over what you sent in to prepare for interview. The VJ guide is also applying to every Embassy in the world; London doesn't need any of that.

I would still bring relationship evidence to the interview, even if it is likely you won't be asked to see it. Never say never.

I can't believe it - Our case is in transit to Germany - whoooohoooooo :) I guess "administrative processing" is the NVC standard sentence before the case left - our case was only 2 days at the NVC(left on the second day) !!!! But it took a month to reach the NVC after NOA2!! I am so happy! I wish all of you see their case numbers soon!

Although it's true that it doesn't HURT you to bring it, with London specifically, it's not something I've seen them look for. They really do want just the basics there. Other countries are obviously different, so if you are not going through London, this advice may not hold true for you, but for London K-1 visa applicants it doesn't seem to be necessary at all.

With that said, anyone who isn't comfortable can gather whatever non-electronic items will make them feel better and bring them as a back-up, but my advice in that case would be to separate your extra papers from the ones requested specifically on the London Website list. You don't want to have to search through hundreds of pages of chats or what have you to try to find what they want to see. This way you can hand them what they require and make the process as smooth as possible. I wouldn't hand them anymore than the documents they request until they specifically ask for something more.
