My fiance called NVC and they told him that consulate will contact me, that they received our petition but no case number is given, and she said that our next step i just to wait embassy to contact me that's all,

That doesn't sound like the correct info to me..maybe it's different with your consulate? but I thought all of them had to go through NVC. wink.png

The petition is in NVC, she told us, but she said we will forward this to your embassy and they will contact you, didn't mention case number at all.

That's good news then...at least it's at NVC..you will probably see your number soon. Mine hasn't left USCIS yet from what I can gather. :(

The reason people like to get the case number is you can cheat a bit and say for London, we can schedule my fiance's medical and try to hedge the system a bit to move things up. We also have our forms ready to send and don't really need to wait until London gets it and sends the package to us to ask for the forms. It's not really the ideal way but when you're in a rush, you can try to maneuver a bit to speed the process. Also, knowing when your number was assigned and it is sent to your Consulate, you can try to track the package to see when it will arrive. But all consulates are different so your process might be different as well. :)

I just called DOS and was told that my case is not in the system yet. I told the lady that our case was approved on June 28th and she said although they approved the case, it is quite possible that they have not sent it out yet. It may take time for processing. Really? Once you approve the case, what other processing needs to be done before you send it to NVC? I am just so tired of these people.

Today at 5pm I got email and update in USCIS system that:

On July 16, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

But before when I called NVC few times they were telling me that my case is in their building and waiting to for case number... Arrgghhhhh..

It is just ridiculous! Almost a month to just send it out!! ranting33va.gifranting33va.gifranting33va.gifranting33va.gifranting33va.gifranting33va.gifranting33va.gif

I'm confused. Whenever I have called NVC to see if I have a case number, I am always told "no, it is not in our system yet," and to wait 8 weeks. When I ask if it has at least been received at NVC and is awaiting a case number, they say they don't have that information. Yet a lot of people on here seem to be getting confirmation that it is at least in the building. If they can see that it has been received from USCIS, why wouldn't they tell me? I did call DOS and was told that it WAS at NVC and to wait. But I don't know who to believe anymore. I feel so lost. :(

I am filing for K1 w/ NOA2 July 2 and got my NVC case number today. They said all K1 undergoes "administrative processing". What is the typical timeframe for this? The NVC officer told me this has a wide range. In the meantime, is there anything I can do with the NVC case number I have to expedite processes down the road?

Hope all is well with everyone else.

Cheers

I also got my case number today. Looks like everyone, I think, who received notice on July 9th that their case was forwarded to NVC got a case number today.

For those of you still waiting, if you have not received that notice that your case has been sent to the NVC, I highly doubt it has left USCIS. I'm not going to tell you to stop calling everyday, but the trend so far is a notice, then approximately a week later a case number.

Hi all:

For all the July 9-11th transfers to NVC I just received my case number from NVC...NOA2 June 20th and transferred to NVC July 9th...I just called them at 10:00EST. So for all those who called earlier you might want to try calling back now or late evening tomorrow. She was really nice and I asked how long before they ship it and she said K1s are typically expedited cases so ASAP!

Cheers!

Got the notice that our case was shipped to DOS today (which I assume means NVC). NOA2 June 25th. Will call later this week for a case number, but we're pretty psyched. Light at the end of the tunnel! Our plan was for him to be here by October so it's looking pretty good!
