June 19, 2013 approval for i-129f. Vermont to Texas transfer. Trying to find out what the status of our paperwork is:

Called USCIS this morning.

First forgot to ask for a Tier 2 so the first tier officer told me that it is automatically forwarded to NVC once approved.

Called back after a few minutes to get a Tier 2 officer. Just got off the phone with him. Asked if he was able to tell us when our paperwork would be going to the NVC. He asked me to read what is on the NOA-2. I read it: "The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate." He mentioned it could take up to 2 months for the paperwork to be sent onto the consulate because of the courier service that is used. I asked if this was going to the NVC at all. He asked me to read the paperwork again.

So, i guess we are still waiting to find out where our paperwork will surface next...

Makes no damn sense! I cant stand how they continually jerk us around. From what I know approved petitions do not go straight to the consulate even though it says so on the hardcopy NOA2. I tried e-mailing the NVC which is supposed to be the quickest way to get a response and I have yet to be emailed back in regards to my case number. I put all the necessary info in the email and still nothing. Calling I get rude operators who seem to be tired of answering questions. It's been three weeks it shouldn't take that long for our petitions to arrive...ugh..

Just got off the phone again with NVC. Was told its not always the case that our petitions are sent immediately to the NVC. The operator said it can take up to 8 weeks. She told me they usually receive files in bulk on Monday and Tuesday afternoons. Still no case number for me.

meh.

I am not sure if you have received the notice that your case was sent to DOS or NVC but I haven't even received the notice yet. I don't even know if they will be of any help even if I call/e-mail them. Not sure what to expect at this point.

Just got off the phone with NVC particalulary hostile lady named Olivia. Gave her my USCIS number she asked when the noa2 was received I aid July 11th. She said LOUDLY "it takes 8 weeks to receive the petition" and that I shouldn't bother calling back before then.

Seriously.

Haha I think I talked to her too. Everyone else I have talked to at NVC has at least been pleasant. Not her!!

I just got of the phone too - Same answer - it takes up to 8 weeks!!! bummer :( - there is nothing else I can do anymore. I have everything ready to be send out, I had my medical done and paid the fee - so now I just wait for them to give me this "awesome" number and then send it to the consulate so I can finally send in all the documents I had already ready when I got the notice for my NOA2. If they take much more longer I might have to get a new passport.

I read my NOA2 to the lady at the NVC and she said it should've gone to them first so someone at USCIS doesn't know about this.

What I did was send an email to NVCResearch@state.gov and in the subject put your receipt # from the USCIS and then scan

your NOA2 and send in an attachment.

The next day I received an email from USCIS stating they were resubmitting the information to NVC which should've been what they

did instead of the consulate.

Hope this helps.

The thing is we know it rarely takes 8 weeks and can vary depending on where your file was approved . Csc tsc or vac. Shouldn't wro that way but is anyone surprised?

Typically from what I've garnered for CSC it's under 10 days. It just is troubling when very few people along the way really have a grasp on what they do at their own place of employment.

My petition was approved at CSC on May 8th 2013 and I still haven't received my case number. I have been calling the NVC everyday for over 2 months now but same old story.

There are some other people on here that were approved in May but still NVC don't yet have their file. So it does take more than 10 days for some to get their case number.

This is the exception and not the rule. You get the odd few cases that have issues, most are in and out very quickly. The entire batch of TSC transfers still do not have a case number a month on bar 2.

AOS posted - 02/18/2014

NOA1 - 03/04/2014
Biometrics - 03/28/2014
EAD in post - 5/5/2014

EAD in hand - 5/10/2014
Interview waiver letter received - 6/9/2014

Card production notice - 1/10/2015

ROC mailed - 10/11/2016

ROC received at CSC - 10/18/2016

Interview Notice Received - 3/30/2017

That's why I said "rarely" takes 8 weeks not never. Like QOB said, it happens sometimes but most people in a similar case and timeline recieved their number between4days and 4 weeks

I got a similar response...ugh. I totally feel like we are being jerked around. The woman was nice but she said that my case isn't outside the normal timeframe and kind of laughed off me saying people get assigned them for K1s within a week or two. :(

I tried to get her to tell me if mine was one of the cases that would need to be reaffirmed and she didn't have that info. I'm going to call USCIS when I get home tonight and them tomorrow my Congressman. Ugh. :(
