20 mins!!! Jesús! And some of you do this Daily. Ummm yeah I hope they send notices home cause I doubt I'll be phone harassing them. I don't think I need to know the very minute I get assigned a number. Lol we survived almost a year a month two months won't kill us! Lol. Patience is a virtue...

We got the hard copy of our NOA2 in the mail today! NOA2 date 6/25. It says our case has been forwarded to the listed consulate.... and then no consulate is listed anywhere on the notice. Thanks, USCIS :-P. I'm not worried about it, though, because according to what I can find in my country portal, Netherlands cases do have to clear the NVC first. I plan to start calling for the case number on Monday, and then maybe every other day until I get it. I'll keep everyone posted!

It really just depends on how much of a hurry you are to be together. When dealing with the I-129F portion and USCIS there really isn't much you can do but wait for that NOA2 unless you go beyond posted wait times. With this next part though, the sooner you get your number, the sooner you can do things like fill out paperwork, schedule medical, etc. The sooner you start scheduling this stuff, the quicker the process will be. You can just wait to be notified, but every day, appointments get booked and it puts you further back in the line. This is why people want their numbers ASAP so they can finish as early as possible. If that's not important enough to wait on the phone for 20 minutes while watching tv or eating dinner (which is when I am calling now) that's perfectly fine. Each person has their own timeline within which they are working. Some are in a hurry for whatever reason, others have things to tidy up before they come, so aren't in as big a rush. Each at their own pace, just wanted to show why getting the number is important to some people. Best of luck to you and everyone in this thread to a quick and relatively painless journey

We were approved the same day sek - hoping my NOA2 comes today too and I'll be calling daily starting Monday too..

Do we know if anyone who was approved after being transferred from VSC to TSC in May got their number yet?

No. We were one of the first approved from Texas on 6/13 and we are still waiting for the NVC to receive it. I know that cases with the same NOA2 as me from VSC and CSC already have their numbers. Not sure what is up with Texas.

Well that's discouraging. I saw somewhere on here that they send cases to NVC in batches from each service center... So maybe starting this week we'll see the TSC approved cases forwarded to NVC, a bunch at a time? Possibly? Maybe? *Naively hoping for the impossible*

I hope so. Friday will be 15 business days (since July 4th is a holiday) for us. 15 business days is what they say it takes. Which I think that someone could almost walk from Texas to New Hampshire in that timeframe.

You can find the NVC contact information here:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3177.html

I'll paste what is pertinent to your question from that page:

Customer Service Representatives are available to respond to case inquiries.

Telephone number: (603) 334-0700

Hours: Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM (Eastern Time)

You must include the following information to receive a case specific response:

  • Your NVC Case Number or USCIS receipt number
  • The applicant’s name and date of birth and the petitioner’s name and date of birth
  • If you are an attorney, include the name of the law office requesting the information

Note: This service requires the use of a touch-tone telephone.

BTW, it says you need names and dates of birth, but I have yet to be asked for more than my USCIS number, of course they haven't received my case yet, so perhaps they don't ask for more information from you until they actually have something to tell you

Yeah, we were hoping she would be here for my birthday (July 20) but that's not going to happen now :(

1-603-334-0700 Operator assistance is available Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 12:00 AM (Eastern Time)

Edit. The better answer is in the post above. But yeah I don't think they ask for names and birthdays until they have the number in their system, because we are no in their system so they don't know that info.

Walking from Texas to NH according to google maps would take approximately 27 days(1,973 mi, 646 hours). And IMPORTANT:

Walking directions are in beta.

Use caution – This route may be missing sidewalks or pedestrian paths.

So it might even add a day or two. :)

Just for fun. :)

Keep doing the same and keep getting the same response. Although I did call USCIS today and was told it was sent out and they gave me the batch number it was in. They said call the NVC in a week and let them know the batch number. I guess they get sent there in a big pile and the NVC is slow sometimes to sort through it and get it in the system.

Yes,

After looking at several posts in the past 24 months....they do send these petitions to NVC in Batches....so the TSC petitions will end up getting case numbers around the same time relatively...(a number of days of petitions in one batch...)

I received my NOA2 LETTER in the mail today June 29th 2013. Valid from June 25 2013 - 10/24/2013. Does this mean we have until 10/24/13 to get the interview or to get married? Or is it 3 months once he gets into the U.S. and 6 months to leave his country for his Visa to be valid?

Hi Dustin,

Just curious, have you asked TSC if they sent your application to NVC yet?

To get the interview....but don't worry, it can easily be extended if there is a delay in getting the interview date.
